Sonakshi made her screen debut in Zee Tv's "Ek chhoti si Zindagi" as "Vrinda." The series was based on the lives of two women named 'Isha' and 'Ira.' Vrinda played a detrimental part in this story.
In December 2011, the show was canceled. She then starred in Zee TV's "Jodha Akbar" as "Bakshi Banu Begum." She portrayed a Mughal princess from history. Humayun's second daughter had a half-brother named Akbar. The show ran from 2013 to 2015 and was one of the most popular on television.
