Cyrus Broacha was born August 7, 1969, to a Parsi father and a Catholic mother. He began acting at the age of five, in a school play called The Emperor's New Clothes. Every year, he performed and wrote for the school magazine, winning prizes in English and drama. Cyrus' family originally hailed from Bharuch, Gujarat.

Cyrus studied law at the Government Law College in Mumbai.After graduation, Broacha went to the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City, where he studied acting for theatre.

Career
Cyrus Broacha started his career in the performing arts in 1985 with Pearl Padamsee's direction of his first professional play, "Brighton Beach Memoirs." At the age of 15, he debuted in the film industry with the Hindi movie "Jalwa" in 1987. His broadcasting talents came to the forefront as a radio jockey with shows like the "Dial-In Show" in 1993.

Cyrus became a household name during his time with MTV, hosting numerous shows, including the long-running candid-camera show "MTV Bakra." His activism was highlighted by leading the "Rock the Vote" campaign for MTV and representing the network at the UNAIDS conference in Hanover, Germany. He also moderated "Be Heard - A Global Discussion With Colin Powell" in 2002 and appeared on reality shows like "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and "Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 3." Additionally, Broacha contributed to sports journalism as the editor and host of "ESPNcricinfo Runorder." He was recently seen in the second season of Bigg Boss OTT in 2023.
