Introduction 

Mahesh Bhatt's 1990 Indian Hindi musical love drama film Aashiqui, the first in the Aashiqui series, features Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal, and Deepak Tijori in significant parts. With the help of composers Nadeem-Shravan (Nadeem Akhtar Saifi and Shravan Kumar Rathod), vocalist Kumar Sanu, and music company T-Series, the movie became known for its soundtrack.

It was well-received upon release and became a financial success. The ‘100 Greatest Bollywood Soundtracks’ list compiled by Planet Bollywood placed the soundtrack CD at number four. At the time of its release, it was the Bollywood album with the highest sales. The movie garnered 7 nominations for the 36th Filmfare Awards and took home 4 prizes, including a clean sweep in the music categories. The movie was recreated as Roja in Kannada.
