Plot 

A romance drama called Shiddat centres on two couples and how their fates are interwoven. The narrative centres on Kartika and Jaggi, who are engaged to be married and are really in love. But when Kartika sadly perishes in a vehicle accident, fate takes a harsh turn. Jaggi is devastated by the loss and finds it difficult to go on.

Radhika and Arjun, on the other hand, happen to meet and fall in love in a surprising way. As their romance develops, Radhika learns that she and Kartika, Jaggi's late love, have a special bond. Their love story becomes even more complicated as a result of this realisation, as Radhika struggles to deal with the weight of the past and her developing affections for Arjun.

Shiddat tackles the themes of second chances, fate, and the capacity of love to transcend time and boundaries against the backdrop of love, loss, and destiny. The movie digs deeply into the characters' emotional journey as they negotiate the complexities of their relationships and overcome the difficulties brought on by their shared past.

Shiddat was released on 1st of October 2021. Right after the movie's release, buzz about the movie's name, its interesting storyline and hit songs was created among the viewers.

When Jaggi (Sunny Kaushal) watches Kartika (Radhika Madan) emerge from the pool, he falls in love at first sight. However, there is a lengthy 'nafrat pyaar ki pehli seedi hai'-style procedure before sparks start to fly, during which Jaggi employs every tactic in the book to win the girl over. 'Shiddat' is a passionate love story told entirely from the viewpoint of its male lead Jaggi, whose frenzied obsession is given enough time to develop. All of the university romance, flirtation, and naach gaana in the first half is fun and carefree; everything but academics is covered. What works in this situation is the element of surprise, which makes you wonder what will happen to this unlikely love story.

'Shiddat' has a small cast, which is refreshing, but their individual arcs should have been more clearly defined. The tale by Mohit Raina and Diana Penty lacks a lot of conviction and seems to be there only to support the main plot, which is great but doesn't feel natural. The movie has beautiful cinematography, shot by Amalendu Chaudhary.

The main issue with 'Shiddat' is that, despite having an intriguing concept on paper, it often drags in practise, especially in the second half. The plot is frequently absurd and utterly implausible, but the sense of unpredictability and suspense is what propels it forward. However, it is true that we don't get to see a lot of really insane, primal, and defiant love stories in today's realistic film industry. Shiddat and this one go there, but you won't feel really moved.
