Raj, a veterinarian who has been away from his father's elephant reserve in the jungle for a long time, is the main character of Junglee, which tells his narrative. He meets up with journalist Meera, a boyhood friend, who is looking for a story about illegal poaching in the region. Raj quickly learns that the poachers kill elephants for their tusks and trade them on the underground market. Veterinarian Raj makes a long-overdue visit to his father's elephant sanctuary in the bush. He is dedicated to protecting animal rights and is trying to prevent elephant poaching. Raj is a capable fighter who is quick to confront the poachers head-on. He is troubled by his history and has difficulty with his father.
Asha Bhat plays the role of Meeraa journalist looking into a report concerning illegal poaching in the jungle. She proves to be a great friend to Raj in his fight to preserve the elephants since she is courageous and resourceful. Raj has known Meera since they were children, and they have a close relationship based on trust.
The film's major adversary is Keshav, portrayed by Atul Kulkarni. He is the group's leader and is only driven by greed. Keshav is shrewd and vicious and will do anything to achieve his goals. He is a strong opponent for Raj and his group.
