Career
Poonam started her long and successful career by playing for the Pune University Cricket team at the West Zone (where she won a silver award) and the All India Inter-University at V.B.S. Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. She was a member of the Maharashtra team and played in the Ranji trophy. She was known as one of the best all-around players in the state. In the 2021-22 season, Poonam also stood out as a guest player for the Nagaland team in the Women's Senior One Day Trophy. Talent scouts from the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were amazed by her skills, so they paid Rs10 lakhs to have her play in the first Women's Premier League (WPL).
