Her father hails from Agropoli, Campania, Italy, and her mother is from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She attended the Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. She attended McGill University to study Western classical voice and plan a career in music. She says that singers such as Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, and Josh Groban influenced her musical tastes growing up. She began working with multi-platinum Canadian music producer Matthew Tishler at the age of 13 and continues to do so today.

Career

Natalie Di Luccio's connection to Bollywood began in 2009, when she received an invitation to record a small part in Sonu Nigam's devotional album, Maha Ganesha, via Myspace. She went on to record a Michael Jackson tribute song with Sonu Nigam.

Natalie rose to prominence after recording and posting a YouTube video of her version of the popular Bollywood song "Tu Jaane Na". This music video received more than 1 million views overnight. Following her YouTube success, she was approached to appear on a number of reality shows, including the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss, but she declined to focus on her music instead. She performed the song "Bari Bari" with Amit Trivedi and Shriram Iyer on Coke Studio, Season 2, which was broadcast on MTV India and DD National.

In 2013, Di Luccio collaborated with Italian music producer Mauro Malavasi (Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti). She spent time in Bologna reconnecting with her roots and creating new music with Malavasi. In 2013, she performed a Gujarati song titled "Prarthana". This was the first time that a western classical piece had been performed in this language.

Di Luccio caught the attention of Grammy and Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman, who has invited her to perform live in India on several occasions. She made her Tamil music debut with Rahman's composition "Aila Aila" for the Shankar-directed film I. 
In May 2015, Di Luccio spoke at the NCPA Theatre in Mumbai for TEDxGateway. She discussed the importance of stepping outside of one's comfort zone and how music led her to India.
Di Luccio sang an Arabic song for the soundtrack to Majid Majidi's film "Muhammad: The Messenger of God," which was composed by A.R. Rahman.

Along the way, Di Luccio collaborated with a number of local musicians, the most notable of whom being Rewben Mashangva in Kohima, Nagaland.
