Introduction

The Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in the Indian Premier League, having won five championships. They are a franchise cricket team located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The squad was established in 2008, and Reliance Industries, the largest conglomerate in India, owns 100% of its subsidiary Indiawin Sports.

 The club has played its home games at Mumbai's 33,108-seat Wankhede Stadium ever since it was founded. The Mumbai franchise was the most expensive squad to be sold in the league when it was sold to Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) for $111.9 million. For a duration of ten years, the franchise rights were purchased by Mukesh Ambani's RIL.

History

Four players were designated by the Indian Premier League as icon players for their various city franchises, preventing them from playing for any other team besides their city team. The athlete who represents Mumbai is Sachin Tendulkar. Lalchand Rajput, a former Indian cricketer, was designated head coach, and Sachin Tendulkar was named team captain.  On April 20, 2008, at the Wankhede, they played their first game, losing to the Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets.Mumbai Indians paid $750,000 for Trinidadian all-rounder Kieron Pollard at the 2010 player auction after a covert draw.

The Mumbai Indians re-signed Arjun Tendulkar ($2 million), James Neesham ($5 million), Marco Jansen ($2 million), Adam Milne ($32 million), Piyush Chawla ($24 million), and Nathan Coulter-Nile ($50 million) in the 2021 Auction.

Mumbai Indians struggled in the opening games on Chennai's sluggish field, one of the IPL 2021's neutral sites. Out of the first five contests they played, they dropped three. Their failure of the lower middle order was the primary factor. Home Ground

For the first two IPL seasons, the Mumbai Indians' home games were contested at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. While the Wankhede Stadium underwent renovation to hold group matches and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup final, the third season's seven home games were played at the Brabourne Stadium in 2010. In that season, the Brabourne Stadium hosted seven games, with the Mumbai Indians winning six of them.

 At the moment, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is the home field for the Mumbai Indians. The stadium bears S. K. Wankhede's name, a past president of the BCCI. The Mumbai Cricket Association owns the ground, which can accommodate 33,108 spectators.

Logo and Motto

We will rock the globe is the team's motto, which is translated as "Duniya Hila Denge Hum." This motto served as the foundation for the first anthem of the Mumbai Indians, for which the Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan was recruited for an advertising video campaign.

 Prior to Sachin Tendulkar's suggestion that the name of the club be kept as Mumbai Indians, the team's official logo was to be the Sudarshan Chakra (or Razor).

Jersey

The main colour of the team is blue, and the jersey has golden stripes on either side. Except for the colour shade and new sponsors, the team's colours in 2008 and 2009 were essentially the same, with Idea serving as the primary sponsor. A new uniform with golden stripes was introduced in 2010. Hero Honda is the primary backer in 2011, and the kit from 2010 is still being used. For the team's new players, the 2011 jersey also has three gold stripes on the side that run towards the rear. Adidas produced the uniforms from the IPL's 2008 debut until 2014. In 2015, Performax, a Reliance Trends house brand, took Adidas' position as the uniform supplier.

Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of IPL 2023 

Jasprit Bumrah, a speedster for the Mumbai Indians, is first on the injured list. Bumrah has been absent from the world cricket scene for some time.Since August 2022, the India international hasn't competed for his country. Due to a back ailment, he was unable to compete in the Asia Cup and subsequently the T20 World Cup.

Bumrah recently endured surgery for his injury in New Zealand, and he will be sidelined for at least six months as a result.

• Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh got into a physical fight during the IPL game between the Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab in 2008. Harbhajan Singh was representing the Mumbai Indians at the time. • Spot-fixing scam - In 2013, the IPL was rocked by a spot-fixing scam, which led to the arrest of three Rajasthan Royals players, including Sreesanth.
