Salim & Sulaiman is an Indian score composer duo consisting of siblings Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant. The duo compose music predominantly for Hindi films.

Salim & Sulaiman's ancestral town is Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat. They were born in Mumbai. Salim Merchant birthday is on 3rd March, 1974 and Sulaiman Merchant's birthday is on 21st December, 1970. 

Salim & Sulaiman are the sons of Sadruddin Merchant, who led Ismaili Scout Orchestra's in India. 

Steeped in a family tradition of music as the sons of composer and film veteran of the film industry Sadruddin Merchant, Salim Merchant mastered the piano at the Trinity College of Music, London while Sulaiman Merchant took up tabla training.

Six years after their first music composition for a Bollywood movie, they receieved acclaim for the film score of Bhoot. The duo has been composing music for over a decade having scored for music such as Neal 'n' Nikki, Chak De! India, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Fashion.  Salim & Sulaiman have also composed music for many Indi-Pop performers including Viva, Aasmaan, Shweta Shetty, Jasmine Bhai among others.

Salim & Sulaiman have also composed and produced several  TV commercials and collaborated with a number of artists including K.S. Chithra, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Sultan Khan. They have gone to do movies with well-known producers and directors like Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai and Ram Gopal Verma. The duo was predominantly composing background scores for movies, until the Karan Johar-Shah Rukh Khan production Kaal, for which their song compositions received acclaim.

They have worked on a Bollywood remix for Lady Gaga's song Born This Way and Judas. Salim & Sulaiman have also worked on I'm a Freak by Enrique. The duo did two songs for the Hollywood movie, Sold. During the lockdown, Salim & Sulaiman released Gandhi Jayanti single with Ricky Kej. 

The musical duo collaborated with South African singer Loysio Bala and Kenyan singer and songwriter Eric Wainaina to record the anthem for 2010 FIFA World Cup. The anthem is the song Africa- You're A Star. 

Salim & Sulaiman have been felicitated with a number of awards. They were awarded the Mirchi Music Award for the Indie Pop Song of the Year for Cheene Re Mora Chain in 2013. In 2007, Salim & Sulaiman won the Filmfare awards for Best Background Score for the movie, Krishh. The duo was awarded the IIFA Award for the Best Background Score for he movie Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. They've also been awarded the Star Screen Award for Best Background Score for Bhoot and Dhoom. Salim & Sulaiman won the Zee Cinema Best Background Score Award for Ab Tak Chhappan.  

The duo was awarded the Best Music Director at the Syracause International Film Festival for the movie Fashion and the also the FHM (Magazine) Award for Best Dressed Music Composers. Salim & Sulaiman were also nominated for a number of other awards as well.
