Details

Story 

In 2004, a family in Rajasthan is forced to confine an evil spirit named Manjulika (Tabu) to a room in their ancestral mansion after she targets their daughter-in-law (also played by Tabu). The family abandons the mansion, believing they are safe. Eighteen years later, a young woman named Reet Thakur (Kiara Advani), who is presumed dead by her family, sneaks into the mansion with Ruhaan Randhawa (Kartik Aryan), a man she meets while travelling. The family catches them, but Ruhaan convinces them that Reet's ghost led him there and that she wants them to live in the mansion.

With Ruhaan's help, the family agrees to let Trisha, Reet's sister, marry Sagar, with whom she is having an affair. Ruhaan becomes known as a spiritual guide, or Rooh Baba, due to his ability to communicate with spirits. When he is led to the room where the spirit is locked up, Anjulika, the daughter-in-law, warns him to stay away and explains that the spirit is her twin sister Manjulika, who turned to black magic out of jealousy. She reveals that Manjulika's spirit is still in the mansion and has killed eight members of the family.

Chote Pandit, a priest, discovers that Ruhaan and Reet are not ghosts. Anjulika discovers the truth about Reet being alive and works with her and Ruhaan to ward off Manjulika's spirit. They seek help from the priest who locked up the spirit, but he is also killed. Ruhaan pretends to be possessed by Manjulika's spirit, but he puts on an act to reveal that Anjulika is alive and that Manjulika has been posing as her since 2004. Manjulika's spirit attacks Anjulika and is locked up in the same room as before. Anjulika's spirit seeks forgiveness from her family.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had a phenomenal start at the box office, with an impressive opening day collection of ₹14.11 crore. The film's success continued, and it collected an astounding ₹18.34 crore on the second day. On the third day, the movie's collection rose to ₹23.51 crore, resulting in a total weekend collection of ₹55.96 crore. The film's success didn't stop there, as it went on to gross a whopping ₹266.86 crores worldwide, making it a blockbuster hit. Interesting Facts

Sushant Singh Rajput was initially offered the role of Ruhan Randhawa in the movie, but he turned it down. Kartik Aryan, who eventually played the character, reportedly received a massive sum of 15 crores for his performance, which is almost half of the previous Bhool Bhulaiyaa's budget.  However, it is also a reminder of the unfortunate loss of talent that was Sushant Singh Rajput.
