Baloch is a 2023 Marathi Historical Drama Movie based on an event that occurred after the battle of Panipat. The Baloch movie story tells about what the Marathas faced when they were transferred to Balochistan as labourers after a devastating defeat at the battle of Panipat.

The lead cast of the Baloch film consists of Pravin Tarde as Suryaji, Ashok Samarth as Jafar Khan, and Ramesh Pardeshi as Sadashiv Bhau Peshwe. Along with the lead role the movie also consists of Tejashree Jadhav, Smita Gondkar, Rohit Awale and Vishal Nikam in supporting roles. Prakash Pawar was Baloch movie director and writer and the editing was done by Akshay Salwe and Mayur Hardas.

Baloch movie release date was 5th May 2023 which was only released in the Marathi language. The Baloch movie plot revolves around the aftermath of the third battle of Panipat between the Marathas and the Durrani Empire. In the battle of Panipat Marathas had to face their biggest defeat at the hands of Ahmed Shah Abdali of the Durrani Empire in 1761. The movie shows the struggle and challenges faced by Marathas as labourers in Balochistan after the defeat.

Baloch film trailer was released on 26th April 2023 and the movie was released on 5th May 2023. The movie was released only in the Marathi language. The movie was of total 1 hour and 46 minutes.

Reviews

"Baloch," with Pravin Tarde in the lead role, attempts to follow the conventional pattern of depicting courage in the face of foreign invaders. However, it falls short in providing a genuine, immersive experience.

Pravin Tarde's performance as Subhedar Suryaji is commendable, bolstering most of the film. However, his acting can't quite salvage the narrative, and it doesn't qualify as one of his standout performances. The film depends heavily on green-screen technology to replicate the vast desert landscape, which doesn't significantly contribute to the overall film aesthetics. The film editing appears to be predominantly focused on jump-cutting between action scenes, undermining the narrative's flow and depth.

The dialogues, unfortunately, are basic at best and are delivered without much emotional intensity or variation. The sound design of the movie is also poorly executed, detracting from an immersive viewing experience rather than enhancing it.

"Baloch" might appeal to viewers who enjoy straightforward storylines that revolve around the 'good versus evil' principle without much subtlety or nuance. However, it might not resonate with viewers seeking a more layered narrative, realistic performances, or a sophisticated technical execution.
