Biography

Sangita Ghosh is an Indian film and television actress and model who was born on August 18, 1976. She is well known as Pammi in the television series Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand. She has also hosted and anchored a number of award programmes and television series. She co-hosted the show Nach Baliye with Shabbir Ahluwalia and performed various dances. She is also well-known for her portrayal as Pishachini in Divya Drishti.

In 2011, Sangita married  polo player Rajvi Shailendra Singh Rathore from Jaipur in a private wedding. She disclosed in July 2022 that she and her husband were the parents of a daughter born via surrogacy on December 25, 2021. However, because the baby was born prematurely and was in the NICU for nearly 15 days, she and her husband decided not to announce the news. She also disclosed that she experienced a miscarriage in 2015, which was heartbreaking for her because it was her first child. Devi was the name given by the couple to their daughter.

Career

Sangita began performing at the age of ten in the Hum Hindustani television series. She has modelled for companies such as Donear Suitings and Nirma. She graduated from college in 1996 and has appeared in serials such as Mehndi Tere Naam Ki Sansaar (during Dheeraj Kumar's early 1990s), Kurukshetra, Adhikar, Ajeeb Dastan, and Daraar. She was cast in Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand after Daraar, where she played Pammi. In 2006, she played Priyanka Kharbanda / Priyanka Rahul Lamba in the hit TV programme Viraasat. 

In 2010, she was also the leader of the ladies' squad in the reality dance competition Zara Nachke Dikha 2. Ghosh made her comeback in a daily serial six years after Viraasat, on the TV drama Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara as Sanchi opposite actor Ruslaan Mumtaz on August 15, 2013. The show was lauded for its innovative and original concepts, and Sangita gained widespread acclaim for her chemistry with Mumtaz. She then made an appearance in the second season of the daily soap Parvarrish. She also played Sudha, the antagonist in Star Plus's thriller series Rishton Ka Chakravyuh. In February 2019, she was seen in the TV show Divya Drishti as Sachini, the antagonist. Her portrayal of Sachini gained widespread acclaim, and the show was a commercial success. The show finished its one-year run in February 2020.

Season 2 of Parvarrish follows the families of two female acquaintances who reconnect as mothers of teenagers. It focuses on the difficulties of raising adolescent children as well as the lessons they acquire from the process.

Divya Drishti

Divya Drishti (transl. Divine Sight) is an Indian supernatural drama television series that aired on Star Plus from February 23, 2019 until February 23, 2020. Sana Sayyad, Nyra Banarjee, Sangita Ghosh, Adhvik Mahajan, and Mishkat Varma appeared in the film, which was produced by Fireworks Productions. It was adapted into Kannada and shown on Star Suvarna as Divya Drushti.

Zameen Se Aassman Tak is a Sahara One Hindi-language television serial. The story follows a family who is separated due to a natural calamity, Earthquake. Aruna Irani produced the series. The plot is about the main protagonist who Balraj Thakur, is separated from his wife and daughter in an earthquake disaster. He attempts to find them but is unable, so he marries another woman, Meera. Balraj Thakur's problems begin when he accidentally runs into his real wife one day.
