Controversies 

Papon, a mentor and judge on The Voice India Kids, was seen on Facebook live-streaming from his own page pouring Holi colours on an 11-year-old girl and was accused of kissing her in the media and on social media. Following a report from the Assam State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, the police filed a case against him on February 24, 2018. The parents of the minor, together with the other participants present on the live streaming and their respective guardians, refuted claims against Papon, indicating that it was fatherly affection exhibited by Papon and there was no kiss. Due to the claims, he stepped down as a judge on the reality TV show.

Based on the police investigation findings, a court of law eventually found insufficient reason to arrest Papon and closed the case, stating that the case occurred due to a factual error.
