Mohit Suri is a film director from India. Born into the Bhatt family, he is best known for directing the films Murder 2 (2011), Aashiqui 2 (2013), and Awarapan (2007), Ek Villain (2014), and Malang (2020). Since 2013, he has been married to Udita Goswami. Mohit Suri, known for his unusual storytelling style, frequently tackles themes of love, passion, and redemption in his films. He can elicit excellent performances from his performers and has a keen eye for portraying emotions on screen. Career

Suri made his directorial debut with the moderately successful Zeher (2005) and then directed films such as Kalyug (2005), Woh Lamhe (2006), Awarapan (2007), Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009), and Crook (2010) after working as an office assistant for T-Series as well as an assistant director in Vikram Bhatt's films Kasoor (2001), Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), and Footpath (2003). Suri's career took off with the surprising success of his psychological thriller Murder 2 (2011). It is one of the most successful Hindi films of 2011. The immensely popular musical love story Aashiqui 2 (2013) and Ek Villain (2014) followed, with the latter also being a vengeance drama and entering India's 100 crore club. Following the failure of his critically acclaimed dramas Hamari Adhuri Kahani (2015) and Half Girlfriend (2017), he found critical and commercial success with the romantic suspense thriller Malang (2020). Ek Villain Returns (2022), starring John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor, was recently released. Suri's upcoming projects include the untitled film alongside Varun Dhawan and Malang 2.

Zeher: A Love Story is a 2005 Indian Hindi-language mystery thriller film directed and produced by rookie Mohit Suri. Emraan Hashmi, Shamita Shetty, and Udita Goswami appear in the film. It's a remake of the 2003 American film Out of Time.  The plot is about Siddharth and Sonia who are blissfully married until Anna enters Siddharth's life. Things take a turn for the worse when Anna is killed and Siddharth finds himself in serious difficulty. The film received a lot of awards. Mohit received Best Debut Director for the same. 

Aashiqui 2

Aashiqui 2 is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language romantic musical drama film directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the Vishesh Films and T-Series Films banners, with Mahesh Bhatt presenting. The film, a spiritual sequel to the 1990 musical film Aashiqui, stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, with Shaad Randhawa and Mahesh Thakur in supporting roles and Salil Acharya in a cameo appearance. The film is set in the early 2010s and revolves around a tumultuous romantic relationship between a failing singer, Rahul Jaykar, and his apprentice, aspiring vocalist Aarohi Keshav Shirke, which is complicated by Rahul's troubles with alcohol misuse and temperament.  Despite having newbies, the film became a commercial success at the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2013, earning over 109 crore (US$14 million) in the first four weeks, putting an end to both Kapur's and Kapoor's early years of battle for recognition. It eventually became the Bhatt brothers' and Vishesh Films' highest-grossing project. The soundtrack was an instant chartbuster and was highly popular following its release; the tracks Tum Hi Ho and Sunn Raha Hai topped the charts across different platforms in India, as did Chahun Main Ya Naa and Milne Hai Mujhse Aayi. It is frequently recognised as one of the best albums of the decade of the 2010s.

Murder 2

Murder 2 is the second part in the Murder film series and was released in 2011 in India in Hindi. It is a quasi-sequel to the 2004 film Murder and stars Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Prashant Narayanan, as well as debutant Sulagna Panigrahi. The film, directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, was released on July 8, 2011. It is one of the most successful Bollywood films of 2011. The film is supposed to be based on the South Korean film The Chaser from 2008, however Bhatt refuted this and said it was inspired by the 2006 Nithari killings in Noida.

Ek Villain

Ek Villain: There's One in Every Love Story is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Shobha and Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. It's a remake of the Korean film I Saw The Devil. It stars Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra, and Shraddha Kapoor in prominent roles and is based on a script written by Tushar Hiranandani and Milap Milan Zaveri. Ekta Kapoor had tapped Mohit Suri to direct a romantic thriller. Suri, the director, had denied that Ek Villain was a remake of the Korean film I Saw the Devil. Mohiit mentioned that every character in the film would have grey tones.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani

Hamari Adhuri Kahani is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language love drama film directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mahesh Bhatt through his Vishesh Films and Fox Star Studios banners. Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan, and Rajkummar Rao appear in the film. It is based on Bhatt's parents' love story, Nanabhai Bhatt, Shirin Mohammad Ali, and his stepmother Hemlata Bhatt. The film was released in theatres worldwide on June 12, 2015, to mixed to good reviews from reviewers. The film's worldwide gross as of 2 July was 580 million (US$9.04 million) on a budget of 350 million.

Recently, Mohit shared a picture on his Instagram of a laptop with Malang 2- Unleash the Madness written on a word page.
