Following an unidentified appearance in the 2007 film Delhii Heights, Mohit entered the TV profession as Samrat Shergill, one of the leads alongside Sanaya Irani in the Star One daily soap Miley Jab Hum Tum (2008-2010). He co-hosted Zara Nachke Dikha and Meethi Choori No. 1 in 2010. Following his appearance in Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, he appeared in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya and Parichay — Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka as a supporting actor. 

Mohit then played Siddharth in Star Plus' Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan (2012-2013), opposite Mrunal Thakur. In the fourth quarter of 2013, he was cast as Haider Sheikh alongside Ketki Kadam in the love drama Qubool Hai, a role he held till 2014. He was also seen in Karan's Tumhari Paakhi. He was later cast as Somendra Singh, opposite Shiny Doshi, in Sarojini (2015-2016). Mohit then appeared in Box Cricket League before finishing second runner-up with Irani in the dancing reality show Nach Baliye. In July 2017, he signed on for Star Plus' Love Ka Hai Intezaar as Ayaan Mehta, partnering Preetika Rao. Three years later, in 2020, he would appear as antagonist Jay Mathur in the fifth season of Ekta Kapoor's famed supernatural franchise Naagin, with Surbhi Chandna and Sharad Malhotra.

Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal

Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal (International Title: Sarojini) is a 2015 Indian television drama series that debuted on July 20, 2015. Rashmi Sharma Telefilms produced the show. Shiny Doshi, Mohit Sehgal, and Pankaj Tripathi play the key parts. Later, Aamir Ali replaced Mohit Sehgal, who had died in the previous episodes. It aired on Zee TV from Monday to Saturday. The show finished happily on April 30, 2016, with Sarojini and Rishabh's marriage and a family photo. The drama followed the journey of Sarojini, a strong-willed, well-educated girl who marries into a family with a regressive patriarchal structure - a household regulated, dominated, and practically ruled by her overbearing, chauvinistic father-in-law. In the show Mohit Sehgal is shown as Somendra Dushyant Singh / Munna Singh.

Love Ka Hai Intezaar

Siddharth P. Malhotra's Love Ka Hai Intezaar (transl. Waiting for Love) is an Indian Hindi-language television romantic drama series. Mondays through Saturdays, it aired on Star Plus in an afternoon programming block named Star Dopahar. Sanjeeda Sheikh, Keith Sequeira, and Sara Arfeen Khan are among the cast members. After a twenty-year hiatus, Preetika Rao and Mohit Sehgal joined the cast. When the Star Dopahar block was cancelled on September 30, 2017, the series came to an end. Mohit Sehgal plays the role of Ayaan Mehta, Inder's son, Mohini and Madhavi's love interest.

Pavitra Rishta (International title: Sacred Relationship) is a 2009 Indian serial opera created by Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms and shown on Zee TV from June 1, 2009 to October 25, 2014. It is a remake of the Tamil television show Thirumathi Selvam. After Rajput's death in late 2018, and again in 2020, the programme was replayed on Zee TV. They decided to bring a new series after this replay achieved good ratings. Pavitra Rishta - It's Never Too Late premiered on Zee5 on September 15, 2021, with Ankita Lokhande continuing her role as Archana and Shaheer Sheikh as Manav.
