Biography 

Karan Mehra, born on September 10, 1982, is an Indian television actor, model, and fashion designer best known for his role as main lead Naitik Singhania in the long-running Indian television series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He is also well-known for his role as Sumit Mishra in Khatmal E Ishq and Do phool ek maali. He was a competitor on Bigg Boss 10 (2016-2017), and he is one of the highest-paid actors in the Hindi television industry.

Childhood and Education

Mehra was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, to Punjabi parents. When he was a child, his family relocated to Delhi. Mehra graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi and attended Apeejay School in Noida. He graduated as the highest student in his class. Mehra worked as a summer trainee for Dominos Pizza after graduating from high school.

Family

Karan’s mother’s name is Bella Mehra and his father’s name is Ajay Mehra. His father owns a construction business. 

Wife

Karan Mehra was married to Nisha Rawal, an actress. He saw her while styling on the sets of Hastey Hastey. They married on November 24, 2012, after dating for six years. Rawal discovered she was pregnant when he was still in the Bigg Boss house. In 2017, the couple welcomed a son.

Career

Karan moved to Mumbai and began assisting directors Rajkumar Hirani and Ram Gopal Verma on four films. He then starred in the film Love Story 2050. Following that, he began modelling and appearing in television advertisements. While attending acting school in 2009, he landed the role of Naitik Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He earned a great break from the show, which he continued for over seven and a half years until June 2016, when he left due to health difficulties. In addition, he appeared alongside his wife Nisha Rawal in the dancing reality series Nach Baliye 5 and Nach Baliye Shriman v/s Shrimati in 2012-13.Karan, along with his co-star Rohan Mehra, entered the Bigg Boss house as a participant in October 2016. He was the first celebrity evicted in the fifth week.

He later appeared as Sumit Mishra in Khatmal E Ishq for a short time. Mehra's new film, Basthi Hai Sasthi, is about rising up to the plate and learning how to deal with reality. In 2016, he unveiled it in an interview and advertised it on the television show Saath Nibhana Saathiya. It was intended to be out in 2017, however the release date has been moved back to 2018. Mehra began filming for the next Zee Punjabi soap Mawaan Thandiyan Chawan in Chandigarh in October 2020. He appeared in the Jubin Nautiyal-Rochak Kohli song Bewafa Tera Masoom Chehra in November 2020. He won the STAR Parivaar Award for 'Favourite Pati'.

Love Story 2050 is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language science fiction-romance film directed by Harry Baweja's son Harman Baweja and starring Priyanka Chopra. Some scenes were shot in Adelaide, Australia. The film was planned to be released on December 21, 2007, but it was pushed back to July 4, 2008 owing to substantial post-production work. The premiere took place on July 2, 2008, in London. The film had many similarities to the 1991 Telugu film Aditya 369; however, whereas the Telugu film dealt with time travel as well as a dark post-apocalyptic future, Love Story 2050 was solely about time travel to a utopian future-city of Mumbai in the year 2050. It is Bollywood's first utopian time travel film. The film was a commercial and critical flop, receiving accolades for its special effects but criticism for its directing, storyline, and Harman Baweja's acting.

Bloody Isshq

Bloody Isshq is a 2013 Bollywood Romantic Suspense Drama film directed by Arup Dutta, best known for his work on Morning Walk. Akash, Shilpa Anand, and Tripta Parashar star in the film. It started production in November 2011 and is set to be released in 2013. The plot is about Natasha who is the brazen, defiant, and man-eater Hotel Heiress of the Eagle Group of Hotels. While on her way to a party, she gets involved in an accident that would have been fatal if Nirvaan Shroff had not been present. Nirvaan saves Natasha from the accident, but his attitude and rough-around-the-edges image entices her, but Nirvaan is not one to be taken in lightly. Natasha and Nirvaan begin their seduction game with a wager from a friend.But what happens next is something Natasha had not anticipated. She falls in love with him, unaware that Nirvaan is married to Radhika, who lives in Pattaya. The conclusion of Bloody Isshq is determined by what occurs next and what Nirvaan acts.

Karan Mehra’s filmography includes diverse roles in both Bollywood and short films. He made his Bollywood debut in 2008 with the film Love story 2050 where he played the role of Karan's Friend. In 2013, he appeared in Bloody ishq as a doctor. In 2018, he portrayed the character of Pinder Buppa, also known as Bups, in the film Basthi Hai Sasthi. Additionally, he showcased his talent in the short film Mahina released on MX Player in 2021, where he played the role of Adi. Controversy

His wife filed a domestic abuse case against Karan in Mumbai's Goregaon police station on May 31, 2021, after the latter came with a bleeding forehead. Mehra was later arrested and released on bail. Rawal later stated that Mehra acknowledged having an illicit affair with a Delhi female when he was on set in Chandigarh. Following the occurrence, the couple filed for divorce, and they are no longer together as of March 2022.
