Malik made his television debut as Aaoni in the Star Plus serial Miilee. After that, he appeared in several TV shows, including Betiyaan Apni Ya Paraya Dhan, Pari Hoon Main, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Godh Bharaai, Durgesh Nandinii, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, and Phulwa. He was also a contestant on Nach Baliye 4. He has also appeared in Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the Year as Rehan Charles.

He also appeared in Doli Armaano Ki as Samrat Singh Rathore, where his acting talent was most appreciated. Mohit Malik finished third in the 2015 Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa competition. He hosted Savdhaan India from June 2016 until January 2017. In 2018, Mohit appeared as Sikandar Singh Gill in the musical show Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, which aired on Star Plus. In August 2020, he played Dhruv Jaiswal in StarPlus' Lockdown Ki Love Story. In 2022, Mohit made his web show debut with Cyber Vaar - Har Screen Crime Scene on Voot, and he also competed in Khatron Ke Khiladi season 12, finishing second runner up. From 2023 to 2024, he starred as Kunal Malhotra in the Star Plus show Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, which was produced by Director's Kut Productions.
