Among the 106 winners of the Padma Award this year, six received the Padma Vibhushan, nine the Padma Bhushan, and 91 the Padma Shri. KM Birla, an industrialist, Mulayam Singh Yadav, a former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Zakir Hussain, a master of the tabla, and Sudha Murty, a social worker and novelist, were among the honorees.

• Vani Jairam:-On January 25, Vani received the Padma Bhushan award. Three National Film Awards have been given to Vani for best female playback singer.
