Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu (2011) alongside Suriya and Shruti Hassan, where she played a supporting part, she also acted in several films such as Gautham Vasudev Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012), Atlee's Raja Rani (2013), and Srikanth Addala's Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2013). Dhanya made her first appearance as a female lead in the Telugu film industry alongside Chinni Chinni Aasa in 2013.
