The actor was awarded the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in the film "My Father". He gained popularity for his portrayal of Chedilal Chaturvedi in the television series Saas Bina Sasural, which was broadcasted on Sony Entertainment Television in India from October 18, 2010, to September 6, 2010. He is presently featured on Sony Set's television series Sargam Ki Sadhe Satii, which serves as the successor to his highly acclaimed programme Saas Bina Sasural. In this series, he assumes the role of Chedilal Awasthi, the female protagonist Anjali Tatrari's father-in-law. His portrayal of this character has received considerable praise and recognition for his acting abilities.
