In place of Jodhaa Akbar from 10 August 2015 to 16 September 2016, Subhash Chandra's Tashan-E-Ishq, an Indian romantic drama television series produced by Essel Vision Productions, aired. Sidhant Gupta, Jasmin Bhasin, Aamir Ali, and Zain Imam played Kunj Sarna, Twinkle Taneja, and Yuvraj "Yuvi" Luthra, respectively, in the television series. It was centred on their lives and relationships of love, anger, betrayal, and obsession and was set against the backdrop of Punjab. This Zee World television series is known internationally as Fire and Ice.

Yuvraj Luthra and Twinkle Taneja have a passionate love affair. Leela Taneja and Anita Luthra, their respective moms, are rivals. Leela desires that Twinkle wed Kunj Sarna, another man. In reality, Yuvraj is pretending to adore Twinkle while plotting her destruction in order to exact revenge on Leela for Anita and his sexual favours. Twinkle picks Kunj over Yuvraj and marries him. Yuvraj acknowledges his growing love for Twinkle. Yuvraj seeks to harm Kunj and cause trouble in Twinkle's life. After falling in love, Twinkle and Kunj desire a happy life. But Yuvraj continues to pose a threat to them and meddle in their lives. Kunj and Twinkle battle Yuvraj's goals by drawing power from one another.

Things change when Twinkle saves his life after he accidentally kills her and falls into his own trap. The heart is changed by Yuvraj. Anita murders Kunj in an effort to end Twinkle's life because she hates Leela. He gets a shot from her. Kunj is missing, and his death is assumed. He never actually passed away, as was later revealed, and several fishermen saved him. Kunj is presumed dead, and Twinkle is broken. She discovers she is pregnant with Kunj's child after a few months. Due to Yuvraj's transformation, her family arranges a phoney wedding for her; however, Twinkle is still in love with Kunj.

Even though Twinkle miscarried five years later, she continues to live with Yuvraj, oblivious of his unwavering devotion to her. Rocky Singh is Kunj's stage name, and he is a successful fighter. Yuvraj and Twinkle think Rocky could be Kunj. Before confronting him in person and recounting her sadness after he apparently passed away, Kunj creates a phoney MMS of Twinkle seducing him. She explains to him why she married Yuvraj, how she miscarried, and that their union is phoney. Kunj breaks down and makes an effort to regain Twinkle's confidence. She is perplexed since she starts to feel something for Yuvraj as well and doesn't want to give up on him.

After some time alone, she runs away to Mussoorie where she meets a carefree Sonia. Following Twinkle, Kunj and Yuvraj each make an effort to gain her affection. She decides to continue studying and requests some space. Twinkle is watched after by Yuvraj protectively to ensure she doesn't get into any trouble. Kunj is accepted into the college to work as a coach. Since he fears losing her more than ever because this love was more sincere and altruistic than the previous one, Yuvraj poses as Jassi and befriends Twinkle in order to stay close to her. By chance, Twinkle and Kunj become more intimate compared to Yuvraj and Pallavi.

Yuvraj starts conspiring against Kunj and attempts to incite Twinkle against him out of envy and his intense love for Twinkle. She declares her faith in Kunj, further upsetting Yuvraj. Kunj and Twinkle decide to be married again following numerous hardships, which upsets Pallavi and Yuvraj. To avoid the wedding, Pallavi poses as a suicide but is actually murdered by her servants in exchange for money. Kunj and Twinkle are accused of carrying out the murder, but Yuvraj and Simple Singh fight to establish the couple's innocence while also developing a romantic relationship. Even though Yuvraj and Twinkle end up with different individuals, the marriage of Kunj-Twinkle and Yuvraj-Simple at the end of the episode puts an end to their tashan-e-ishq story.
