Anjali Bhagwat is a professional Indian sports shooter. She carved a niche for herself by reaching World No.1 Ranking & Champion of Champions and got awarded the highest National sporting honor of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna award.
For over 35 years since 1988 till date she has received National Champion 11 times, established 8 new records & won 78 Gold, 45 Silver & 24 Bronze in the National circuit. Her international career took off from 1995 and she have won 33Gold, 24Silver & 9Bronze setting 13 new records till date.She won 6 World cup medals to reach World No.1 Ranking and stamping India’s dominance in Rifle shooting sport. She was the First Indian to be awarded the most prestigious Champion of Champions title by ISSF.

In Sydney 2000 Olympics she became 1st Indian shooter to enter Olympic finals and to represented India in 3 consecutive Olympics Athens 2004 & Beijing 2008 while receiving the unique honor of lighting the Athens Olympic Torch in India. Grabbed national attention & headlines on winning 4Gold medals with all new records at Manchester Commonwealth games 2002 & being the Flag bearer of the Indian contingent.

Government honored Anjali Bhagwat with Khel Ratna 2003 & Arjuna award 2000 & state’s highest sporting award Shiv Chattrapati in 1992. Society and media appreciated her contribution by honoring her with Indo American Young Achiever, Times Group, Gr8 Women Achievers, FIE Foundation, Teacher’s and Indian sports legend award just to name a few.

With determination to pass on over 3 decades of her international competitive experience & Knowledge to the next generation, she has been instrumental in opening shooting ranges in schools & colleges to promote sporting culture in youth and attracting more participation as well. Have coached 40 plus National level shooters since 2012 under the aegis of Anjali Bhagwat Shooting Academy with a special mention of Priyesha Deshmukh who won Gold at Deaf Olympics & Bronze at Deaf world championships in 2022. She Have been head coach of Maharashtra’s Krida Prabodhini scheme specifically aimed for under privileged children from remote rural areas.
Due to her extensive injury free career and sincere following of Yoga and mental training, she has been frequently invited as a motivational speaker at management institutes like BITs Pilani, Corporate seminars of IT companies, Banks, TED-X and media.
She has been appointed as a member Governing Council Maharashtra Sports University and earlier on All India Council of Sports, member of NATIONAL TOPs selection committee previous 3 times selection panel member in selecting deserving candidates for Khel Ratna, Arjuna, Dronacharya and various other awards as Sports star awards, Indian Sports Honours by RPSG.

As leading member of Bid committee meeting at Jamaica 2007, Anjali’s impressive emotional conclusive speech turned the tables in our favour to win 2010 Commonwealth Games for India eventually resulting in International standard sporting infrastructure being created for all our athletes within the country itself. Similarly she was appointed the 1st registered volunteer of the 2008 Youth Commonwealth Games at Pune to generate interest, awareness and momentum amongst the citizens to make the Games a successful event.In this world of marketing and advent of different media, glamour associated and their reach in society, she has participated in celebrity Fashion shows, Television & Film awards, Talk shows and popularized the sport which she’s so passionate about.Her inclusion as ‘Brand Ambassador’ in honorable Maharashtra Governor’s ‘Swatchata  Abhiyan’ has provided her with the opportunity to create social awareness of hygiene and cleanliness in society.Under the International Olympic movement program run by international Olympic Committee, as a certified Educator of IOC, Anjali guided Indian athletes in career after sports and managing dual career through workshops organized by IOA in coordination with IOC. Currently she is mentoring next generation of rifle shooters through her academy and foundation,besides developing new sports –tech products to democratize target shooting as priority.
