It was a tense moment for England at the MCG on Sunday, the day of the T20 Finals 2022, when they took on Pakistan. The equation read 54 runs of 44 balls, and England scored 84, but they had lost their top 4 wickets.
Pakistan could not offer a competitive score. They struggled from the beginning of the innings and wondered if the predicted rain would save them from their misery. Although overcast, it did not shower, and Pakistan put up a score of 137/8.
The crowd numbered 80,462, but they were more Pakistan fans than English. They cheered every run for Pakistan and fell silent at the fall of each wicket as they watched the team they hoped would win pile up a score short of their expectation.
The gloom lifted when England lost Hales and Salt in the first powerplay. It was the fifth over. England had 32 runs on the board and had lost two wickets.
Butler walked in to steady the innings, and Pakistan was just about losing hope when England lost him when the score was 45!
It looked like the rain would help England, but it refused to shower.
But English players continued to dominate- strokes and Brookes pitched in to get closer to the target, and England proved victorious! And that was the final result of the ICC T20 2022 champions.
But cricket fans can't have enough of it, and the organisers know it. That's why we have the ICC World Cup 2023; this time, it's an ODI competition.

The 13th ICC Cricket World Cup commences on 10 October 2023 and concludes on 26 November 2023.
ICC organises the event once in four years, and eager fans flood the stadiums to watch their favourite team fight for the title. Here is how it all began.
The inaugural cricket world cup was the Prudential World Cup. They played it from 7 June, and 21 June 1975 in England.
West Indies and Australia played the finals at Lord's, and West Indies won by 17 runs and crowned champions thanks to exemplary batting by Clive Lloyd (102 runs from 85 balls) and bowling by Keith Boyce (4/50).
India will host the ICC World Cup championship in 2023 for the fourth time. India held the tournament in 1987, 1996 and 2011 previously.
However, this is the only time India alone hosts the championship. During the past three times, India only co-hosted the tournament with another country(s). There are many sportsperson who set the History in the world of Cricket by their Impactful performance and make their country proud.
The previous cricket world cup was in England in 2019, and the home team emerged victorious against New Zealand, who gave them a run for their money.
Among the top teams playing the Cricket World Cup, Australia won it five times, India and West Indies won twice, and England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan won it once.

Although none of the countries has announced their teams, one can predict the following top players will indeed play in the final:
Can anyone forget India's B teams' performance against England, where Shunbam Gill scored 351 runs in four matches?
He began by scoring 418 runs at the 2018 U19 Cricket World cup, and from then on, the young cricketer has displayed outstanding batting skills.
At the IPL auction, he was much in demand, and Kolkata Knight Riders got him on their side for ₹1.8 crores.
Gill is a consistent batsman for the Indian team who has rarely failed to perform and is a player to watch out for at the Cricket World Cup 2023.
If there is a dependable and rational cricketer in the Pakistani team, it must be Babar Azam. He is currently one of the best batsmen in the world. He played his first match in 2015.
Despite that, he has 2000 ODI runs, and 1000 T20 runs to his credit. Babar Azam has beaten almost all but two of his compatriots in the number of ODI centuries.
As a captain, he has worked well with the team to guide them to the progressive modern attitude that helps them win matches. His most prominent innings is a century against New Zealand in the world cup.
He currently heads the top batsmen table with 887 points.
Rassie van der Dussen has played cricket in several countries, and some are South Africa, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada, and the Caribbean. He played his first T20 match in October 2018 against Zimbabwe.
Rassie van der Dussen is a member of South Africa A's tour to India. The dependable, dynamic, adaptable batsman shines despite his batting position.
He was a key player of the Vancouver Knights team that led their team to win the 2018 Global T20 Canada, and he finished the year by leading the Mzansi Super League batting charts with 469 runs at a strike rate of 138.75 for Jozi Stars.
The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2022 (Men's ) championship began on 16th October and ended on 13th November 2022.
