Akbar (Naseeruddin Shah), a monarch who is now getting older. His three main wives are embroiled in a struggle for dominance of the harem. Salim, Murad, and Daniyal are not qualified to succeed a monarch who has been clearly debilitated by the demands of rule.
Daniyal (Shubham Kumar Mehra), a devout Hindu who is viewed as being too effete to be king. Murad (Taha Shah Badussha) is a bloodthirsty brute who harbors a lot of resentments for what passes for his intellect, much like Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones.
Salim (Aashim Gulati)If it weren't for his love of threesomes and mind-altering substances, Akbar's firstborn son salim would be the obvious option. He even appears to stumble from one bed to the next in the same shot, demonstrating how much weight is placed on this swoon-worthy stud to live up to his hard-partying reputation.
Anarkali played by Aditi Rao Hyadri. Many movies and television programs, including Mughal-e-Azam, have been inspired by the legendary courtesan whose alleged love for Salim caused him and Akbar to fall out. (1960). The Salim-Anarkali connection takes on a new twist that dominates the series and almost sends it off course.
Abul Fazal (Pankaj Saraswat) and Badayuni (Aayam Mehta) were two of Akbar's courtiers who constantly used the nobles for their own ends. Digambar Prasad plays Man Singh, Akbar's lieutenant, Sandhya Mridul plays Jodha, his wife, and Zarina Wahab and Padma Damodaran play his other wives.
The magnificent scenery is visually extravagant and looks like old historical documents in sepia. In Taj: Divided by Blood, the artistically recreated red-stone set of Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's elaborate Peacock Throne, vintage clothing and ornaments, artistic typographies and designs on white marble, arched gateways, and the music (by Ian Arber, Jeremy James Hunt, Gaayatri Kaundinya, and Andy Kyte) act as time machines to transport you back to an ostentatious era.
The Mughal Dynasty is the subject of the serial series Taj. The show, which spans six seasons and has numerous episodes per season, dramatizes the rise and fall of the various Mughal Empire generations. Rich luxury is pitted against harsh repercussions in every aspect of the show, bringing out the contrasts typical of that time period. Stories of passionate love versus icy betrayal. philosophies of peace opposed to core values. innocent starts versus hopeless conclusions. It takes viewers on a historical journey, revealing to them a previously unknown side of this illustrious family that contributed to its rise to become the greatest empire in medieval times and ultimately to its fall.
