Mismatched is based on the bestselling book When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. The plot of the story focuses on Rishi Singh Shekhawat (Rohit Saraf) a young man who believes in the conventional style of dating: meeting in person, becoming wasted in love, and has gone to the Aravalli Institute to locate his Future Wife.
Dimple Ahuja (Prajakta Koli) wants to be a tech wizard. Rishi desires to get married to Dimple since she is determined and has enchanted him. The story takes amazing twists and turns in building their bond, the drama, comedy, tragedy and romance everything goes hand in hand in describing Gen-Z’s perspective of living and passion for following their dreams and handling love at the same time.
There are other love stories of Zeenat and Professor Siddharth love story also built in between describing you are never old to dream, to love, to adore and to get pampered. Along with modern love, the blend of old-school romance and dealing with the situation in every way possible make this story worth watching.
The season is the continuation of Dimple’s and Rishi’s story The story focuses on examining a variety of actual circumstances, such as alternative sexuality, a middle-aged mother of two teenage boys asserting her freedom and right to be happy, sex before marriage, and many other similar topics, but it is all extremely brief and by-the-way. Just like in the first season, the writers fail to find a genuine purpose for their narratives now, limiting themselves to a few amusing and entertaining moments and character conflicts that either end too abruptly or remain open-ended.
Mismatched Season 1 was released on November 20, 2020, and Mismatched season 2 was released on 14th October 2022 got a good response from the audience. All the episodes on Mismatches are Available on Netflix.
A fun, cute, sweet, and entertaining series is Mismatched. It concerns two diametrically opposed individuals. Dimple Ahuja (Prajakta Koli), who wants to learn Java and create new applications, and Rishi Singh Shekhawat (Rohit Saraf), who wants to find his love at a young age and live a perfect married life like his grandparents, are both set up by their parents so that they can develop an understanding for the future.
In addition to their love story, the college depicts all the others involved in their lives, and each and every character remains in your memory after viewing the series. Half of the series' characters are relatable to many of us. You can watch it on Netflix with friends or a significant other to appreciate it more. IMDb gave a 5.8/10 rating to this series while NDTV rated the series 3.6 out of 5.

Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari were chosen by Netflix to direct the show. Before Khurana was chosen to direct the series, Dhaliwal had already finished writing the script. The new script received Khurana's approval because it was a love story between two real people with real challenges.
Even though this was mainly a young adult romance, the way it was portrayed showed maturity. Similar to Dhaliwal, who lists Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as one of her guilty pleasures, Dhaliwal was attracted in by the book's simple high-school romance, which contrasts with the elaborate candyfloss high school universe portrayed in Hindi movies.
In an interview with Poulomi Das of Firstpost, Khurana talked about the setting. She said, When I first read Gazal's take on the book, what I loved was that she altered the context for the love story at the centre of the proceedings and introduced a host of new characters who had very distinct characteristics which made the world building so much more interesting.
The series was filmed in November 2019, with the majority of the shots taking place in Jaipur and some parts being shot at the Old Royal School of Jodhpur. The cast members shot for 12 hours each day for 38 to 39 days during the production. In May 2020, as India was under lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the post-production was finished.
This web series is intriguing and would be greatly favoured by young people. Prajakta Koli, who provided a crazy and exhilarating performance here, is a familiar face from the movie Mostly Sane. She is both the series' high point and its beating heart.
Mismatched has received favourable early reviews from critics, who gave it a rating of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5. The web series budget hasn't been made public yet, but it's expected to be in the 6–8 crore area. Audiences responded favourably to it, and reviewers praised the connection between Saraf and Koli, the cast's performances, the music, and the background score. However, there were complaints about the writing and the direction. About the earnings data is not appropriate but with the remarkable performances the series nailed it.
