Plot 

Naveen Sikhera (Mohit Raina) is promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and assigned to the city. Sikhera's transfer is more of a punishment than a promotion. Two gangs rule the city: the Shaukeen gang in the east and the Dedha brothers in the west. The two gangs have divided their territory in order to continue their operations. The terror of these two gangs is so intense that even the local police are afraid to question them. As the new SSP, IPS officer Naveen Sikhera cleans the city on his own.

Character Analysis

Sikhera is a no-nonsense cop who is not afraid to take on the powerful mafia and their political connections. Mohit Raina brings out the character's determination and grit with his performance. According to reports, Vaani Kapoor will play the lead in the crime thriller series 'Bhaukaal 3'. For the Lucknow shoot, 800 locations have already been scouted. And the auditions for the cast are expected to take place within the month. However, little information about the web series title or the rest of the cast has been revealed.

The show is based on the true story of Navniet Sekera, an IPS officer who reduced crime rates in Muzaffarnagar in the early 2000s. Raina, who was playing a cop for the first time, was given his personal bulletproof jacket by the brave officer. Bhaukaal was launched on  March 2020 on MX PLAYER, and that is a 10-episode web series. All episodes are around 30 minutes. 

• Season 2

Bhaukaal season 2 released on 20th January. You can watch all 10 episodes on MX Player. Bhaukaal 2 picks up where the first season left off, with the Shaukeen gangsters being wiped out by UP police. In the second season, Naveen and his team are on a mission to protect the villagers by eliminating another deadly gang, the Dedha Brothers.

During the shoot, Mohit Raina lost a bet of Rs 500. He also opened up about his character and how important it was for him to get into the role. Mohit Raina, who played S.S.P Naveen Sikhera in the series, spoke about his character in the series as he enacted the police's efforts to control the lawlessness in Muzaffarnagar in 2003. He astounded the officers with his humble tribute, in which he spoke about appreciating the sacrifices and efforts that officers make to keep us and the country safe.

Reviews

The second season is even better than the first, with top-tier action and a swaggering delivery of powerful dialogue. It elevates the show to new heights. The plot will also keep you interested. As soon as you think you understand the plot, a new twist will be introduced, leaving you perplexed. The use of rustic abusive language could have been toned down a little, and the emphasis should have been more on developing the psyches of the main characters. When it comes to the cast, there is no doubt that Mohit Raina has won our hearts yet again. He's done an excellent job as a cop, and his action scenes alone are worth watching this show for.

• Based on the true story of UP Cadre IPS Navneet Sikera, who served as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Muzaffarnagar in the early 2000s. IPS Sikera, a Computer Engineering graduate of the highly prestigious University of Roorkee (now known as IIT-Roorkee), is currently an Inspector General (IG) and heads the Uttar Pradesh Women Help Line.
