The Sundarban forest in West Bengal serves as the backdrop for the tale of Abar Proloy. In order to deceive young girls and women into falling into a love trap, a gang of adolescent lads have created a serious issue in the Sundarban. A rise in women trafficking occurs in Sundarban as a result of the gang's subsequent trafficking of the women to other states. Special crime section officer Animesh Datta, played by Saswata Chatterjee, assumes control of the situation in order to rescue the captive females and put an end to the bloodshed.

Release 

Abar Proloy's teaser trailer debuted on July 1, 2023, to mixed reviews from moviegoers. Saswata Chatterjee's character of unruly officer Animesh Dutta is introduced in the teaser. However, several viewers claimed that one of the characters was identical to Guruji from the Hindi web series Sacred Games, which prompted criticism. On August 11, 2023, Abar Proloy will be made available on the ZEE5 OTT platform.
