Ichha is the daughter of a poor widow named Damini, and she gets a job at the Jogi Thakur Mansion in Mumbai as a maid. The story takes place in Mumbai. Tapasya, Jogi's daughter, meets Ichha, and the two of them develop a relationship similar to that of sisters. Tapasya's perspective on Ichha shifts as a result of Sumitra's influence. When Tapasya sees Divya and Jogi treating Ichha as if she were their own child, her jealousy flares up because Jogi is ignorant that he was responsible for the death of Ichha's father, Rajendra.

Character Analysis

Rashami Desai as Tapasya Rathore

Initially, Tapasya was portrayed as a materialistic and ambitious character. She aspired to live in luxury and frequently went to great measures to fulfil her ambitions. Her desires for money and social position frequently distorted her judgement, causing her to take morally dubious actions.

The relationship between Tapasya and Ichha was crucial to the development of her character. She first viewed Ichha as a rival and was resentful of her for getting more love and attention. But as the story went on, Tapasya's envy changed into a complex love-hate connection with Ichha, illuminating the nuance of their relationship.

Tapasya had emotional vulnerabilities that were frequently concealed beneath her strong appearance. She felt abandoned by her parents and wanted for their love and acceptance, which spurred her bad behaviour even more. Rashami Desai skillfully captured Tapasya's emotional torment by highlighting her vulnerability at key junctures.

Tapasya's character developed and changed significantly as the serial went on. She sought atonement after becoming aware of the effects of her conduct. Tapasya began to second-guess her decisions as she grew more compassionate and empathic. Rashami Desai did a good job of illustrating this character growth, showing how Tapasya went from being a selfish person to becoming a more responsible adult.

Tina Dutta as Ichha Bundela

Sreejita De as Mukta Rathore Kashyap

 As the show's main protagonists Ichha and Raghuvendra's daughter, Mukta is introduced. Her life, however, dramatically changes when she falls in love with Vishnu, a troubled young man, and she encounters many difficulties.

Behind The Scenes

Sparsh Khanchandani and Ishita Panchal played the young Tapasya and Ichcha, respectively, in the show from December 2008 until June 2009.

From June 2009 until March 2012, it focused on the characters of Ichcha, Tapasya, Veer, and Vansh, performed by Tina Datta, Rashami Desai, Nandish Sandhu, and Rohit Khurana, respectively. Later, it took a generational leap. Vikas Bhalla took over for Sandhu in 2012 when he left the show because he didn't want to participate in the 18-year leap. Avinash, the main antagonist, was portrayed by Raj Singh Verma.

The tale subsequently focused on the lives of Meethi, Mukta, Yuvraj, Akash, and Vishnu, as portrayed by Tina Datta, Sreejita De, Saurabh Raj Jain, Mrunal Jain, and Ajay Chaudhary, until it came to a close in January 2015. A subsequent 18-year leap was introduced in March 2012. More than 20 languages have been added as dubs.
