On March 14, 2022, Colors TV debuted the spy drama series Spy Bahu in the Hindi language. It is accessible digitally through Voot. Sana Sayyad and Sehban Azim feature in the Viniyard Films production, which Ashvini Yardi directs. The show ended on September 30, 2022.

Plot

A young girl from Kashmir named Mahira Mirza loses contact with her brother after her parents, Sharif and Aayat, are slain in a terrorist strike. Saras and Minal Kotadia adopt her, changing her name to Sejal Kotadia. Shera adopts her brother Fareed, who later takes the name, Abhishek Singh.

Yohan Nanda, the son of wealthy businessman Arun Nanda, despises both his stepmother Veera and his aunt Aarti because they both passed away when he was a young child. He shared a home with his siblings, Drishti, Shalini, Shail, and Krish. Veera actually leads a terrorist organization by the name of "Mission Azaadi."

Eventually, Tanha and S.K. helped Sejal join RAW. She goes into the Nanda estate to spy on Yohan, who is suspected to be guilty. Ultimately, she discovers Yohan is innocent, and Veera is the real criminal. She also finds out that Yohan's sister Drishti is married to her brother Abhishek. Drishti is in shock after Abhishek dies while on a mission to exact revenge for the death of his family. She later gave birth to Aditya, Fareed's son. Veera sends her assistant Ahana to pose as Mahira to visit the Nanda residence. Together, they establish Sejal's terrorist status, leading to her imprisonment. Sejal's police van is pushed off the cliff by Ahana as the case is being heard, and Sejal is assumed to be dead.

Sejal poses as Paro while carrying a baby. She returns to the Nanda residence while acting forgetful. Yohan learns that Veera murdered his mother thanks to her persistent efforts. They also discovered that Veera and Ahana were giving Drishti the incorrect medications. Together, they plan to out Veera. When Veera learns Shalini is telling the truth, she tries to kill her. Yohan and Sejal, however, manage to save Shalini. In a blast during Ganpati, Veera intends to assassinate the Nandas. However, Sejal keeps everyone on schedule. Veera is revealed and taken into custody by SK. Ahana and Veera devise a scheme to have Yohan arrested on spurious rape charges.

Yohan establishes his innocence during the court proceeding, but Ahana flips the script. With Arbaaz's assistance, Veera escapes from the police prison while SK Sir is killed by a bomb detonated in the court. Sejal swears she will catch Veera. Veera is finally slain while trying to flee, and Sejal succeeds in capturing him. Arbaaz and Ahana have been detained. Sejal receives recognition for her valor. She subsequently gives birth to a daughter named Hichki. Tanha asks Yohan to sign up as a spy. In Lucknow, he and Sejal are given their new assignment. The program comes to an amicable conclusion, with Sejal, Yohan, and Hichki spending time together.

Release Date

Kareena Kapoor introduced the characters of Sejal and Yohan in the series promotions, which were released in February 2022. On March 14, 2022, Spy Bahu made its television and digital debut on Colors TV and Voot.

Reviews

Critics generally gave Spy Bahu favorable reviews. Says Rasika Deshpande "It is pretty intriguing and keeps you hooked onto it. It looks promising and moreover very interesting. Spy Bahu brings on board something different yet strong on Television after a pretty long time."

Spy Bahu is directed by Niraj Pandey and Gautam Hegde and Nitish Bakshi worked on the screenplay of the show. Srinita Bhowmick and Prakriti Mukherjee developed the story of the show. Ashvini Yardi produced the show under the production house Viniyard Films. Lenin Nandi created the music of the show.

Songs

Lenin Nandi is the composer of the Spy Bahu music. The song "My Dil Goes Mmmmm" from the 2005 movie Salaam Namaste served as the series theme music. The theme song for Yohan and Sejal is "Keh Do Naa."

Shoot Location

The television show is filmed in Kashmir and New Delhi. It was primarily filmed in Mumbai's Film City. Some of the opening scenes were filmed in Kashmir. The team also took pictures near Lal Chowk in Srinagar.

TRP

Spy Bahu received excellent TRP ratings in its initial week of the telecast. The Spy Bahu series received 16.0 Online TRPs while scoring 1.2 in the BARC TRP Ratings.

Everything about Spy Bahu is excellent entertainment, from the language to the direction to the performance. It got off to a solid start and built up a decent level of suspense in the first episode. We sincerely hope the show keeps its suspenseful atmosphere.
