In a recent Twitter post, the founder/CEO of iWeb shared that he was treated unfairly, and his pitch was not aired. He also said that the behind-the-scenes of the show is different. He tweeted that the showrunner designed the 3-minute pitch for the entrepreneurs, which they have to stick to and follow, even if the USP gets light. He also shared that multiple rehearsals are done, and some get more attention, time and practice.
Shark Tanks judges, known as sharks, have also stirred a bit of controversy. In one episode, the Co-Founder at Bharatpe, Ashneer Grover, called a contestant, Shakaal (a villain in Hindi films), due to the contestant's bald look. Many viewers did not appreciate this remark.
In another episode, the Founder & CEO of Shaadi.com remarked on the pitch by Rohit Warrier that the product was a solution looking for a problem. All the sharks agreed upon this exclamation. Furthermore, Ashneer Grover was disappointed in the contestant for wasting this opportunity.
