The film is largely based on the political family of Balasaheb Thackeray and is based on the real-life experiences of party workers who have pledged their allegiance to a particular political party. It highlights the illustrious past of the party and the powerful organisation that fought for the Marathi community in India's Maharashtra. The plot illustrates the plight of party members who have pledged their allegiance to a specific political party based on the party's supreme leader.
One of the new leaders splits apart from the core when the leadership reins are handed to the following generation. What happens next is the split between friends who were formerly united by the party's cause but are now at odds with one another. The movie also touches on the part where political images have been built completely based on media and PR exercises. Under pressure from the media campaign managers and in an attempt to please the minority vote banks, the ideologies behind the parties are sacrificed, leaving the purists and youth betrayed.Amongst the betrayed are also the youth who break away to establish themselves from under the shadow of the older leadership, only to find that their good work left aside when it is time for an election ticket allotment.
The movie was released on the 22nd of January 2010. It is a marathi language based drama movie and earned a box office collection of 2 Crores. It has a runtime of 1 hr 58 mins. It got a rating of 7/10 on IMDB. The movie can be enjoyed on Sony Liv.
