Satya Balram Azad is the home minister in Uttar Pradesh's coalition administration. He attempts in the assembly to approve an anti-corruption bill, but his own alliance partners oppose it. Vidya Azad, Satya's wife, is one of the MLAs who votes against the measure. She is the daughter of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Prakash. Meanwhile, doctors at a state government hospital go on protest. A woman begs them to help her daughter, who has been in an accident. The strike's leader, a doctor, declines.
The victim dies in front of doctors and the journalists who are protesting. In an act of vengeance, a vigilante kills the doctor who is heading the strike the same night. His death causes the walkout to be called off. The vigilante is transformed into an instant hero. Chandra Prakash is unimpressed and orders DCP Upadhyaya to locate the perpetrator. The case is turned over to Jay Balram Azad, Satya Balram Azad's twin sibling. Another scandal, on the other hand, is rocking the state, as many children become sick after eating at a Madrasa. There aren't enough oxygen cylinders in the government facility where they're being treated. As a result, 40 of those children perish.
Satya discovers that the spoiled food grains were provided by a Tripathi relative. And the person in charge of supplying oxygen to the government facility is a close aide to Shankar Prasad. Both Tripathi and Shankar are members of the alliance party, and when confronted by Satya, they vow to withdraw their support. It has now been revealed that the avenger is none other than Satya. He now murders Tripathi and Shankar. A few days later, a third incident happens when a state flypast collapses. Madan Lal Joshi, the flyover's contractor, declines to accept responsibility. Jay and his friends assume that he will be killed by the vigilante. The rest of the movie revolves around what occurs next.
The film's release date has been pushed back to April 2021 owing to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Finally, on November 25, 2021, the film was published.
Critics gave the picture negative reviews. ‘Satyameva Jayate 2 is a power packed mass entertainer with entertaining moments and bravura performance by John Abraham,’ noted Bollywood Hungama. 'If you enjoy the massy masala fare of the bygone era and are ready to take on thrice as much of John Abraham in one frame, you can indulge in this one,' wrote Hiren Kotwani of The Times of India.
The Indian Express's Shubhra Gupta gave the film a 0.5/5 rating, writing, 'Abraham strides through this thing with his usual blend of fixed-frown-and-swinging-fists. He only does the bare-bodied superhero who can take on all foes with a teeny dimpled nudge-wink once or twice. The remainder is a slew of tired stereotypes and bad storytelling, reinvigorating the perilous notion of justice being meted out by men wielding the power of judge, jury, and executioner.'
