The plot of the movie Rowdy Rathore revolves around Shiva (played by Akshay Kumar), a clever and street-smart con artist. Shiva's life takes a drastic turn when he comes across a little girl named Chinki, who believes him to be her father. Soon, he discovers that Chinki's real father is actually Vikram Rathore, a brave and honest police officer who was brutally murdered by a ruthless gang led by the vicious Baapji (played by Nasser). 

Driven by a sense of responsibility and a desire to bring justice, Shiva decides to assume Vikram Rathore's identity and confront Baapji and his gang. As he steps into the shoes of the valiant police officer, Shiva must navigate through a dangerous web of deceit, corruption, and violence. Along the way, he finds support in the form of a tough and spirited young woman named Paro (played by Sonakshi Sinha), who becomes his love interest.

Released on 27 April 2012, the soundtrack for the film was composed by Sajid-Wajid. The Rowady Rathore songs are very groovty and have that bolltwood tadka to it, howerever the line 'Chinta Ta Ta Ta,' was borrowed from the original song in its Telugu version, as confirmed by Wajid. Making a comeback after four years, Kumar Sanu lent his voice to a song in the film. The popular track 'Aa Re Pritam Pyaare' incorporated the hook tune from the Tamil song 'Vaadi Vaadi Naattu Katta' featured in Alli Thandha Vaanam.
