Introduction
Game Changer is an upcoming political action thriller movie in Telugu that was written and directed by S. Shankar (in his first Telugu film). The film stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani and is produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, and Nassar play important roles as well.
The film was announced in February 2021 under the working title RC15, and production began in October 2021 in Hyderabad, New Zealand, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Visakhapatnam, and Punjab. The official title was revealed on Charan's birthday, March 27, 2023. Thaman S composed the film score and soundtrack album, and Tirru shot the film.
Dil Raju stated his intention to release the film in January 2023 to coincide with Sankranthi in January 2022. The film has reportedly been pushed back to the second half of 2023 to accommodate Raju's Tamil-language production Varisu, as well as production delays. The film will be released in Telugu, along with Tamil and Hindi dubs.
Thaman S composed the soundtrack and score for the film, his third collaboration with Charan after Naayak and Bruce Lee. It is also his first musical collaboration with Shankar, as well as his second overall collaboration, following his acting debut in Boys (2003)
Behind the scene
Shankar and Ram Charan announced their collaboration for a film produced by Dil Raju and Sirish in February 2021. Shankar makes his directorial debut in Telugu cinema with this film. They started with the working title RC15 because it will be Charan's 15th film as a lead actor. In an interview with Cinema Vikatan in January 2022, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj revealed that he wrote the original story for the film, with Shankar writing the screenplay. The dialogues were written by Sai Madhav Burra. Shameer Muhammed was hired to do the editing. Charan is said to play both a father and a son. The title, Game Changer, was revealed in March 2023.
Kiara Advani was announced as the lead actress in July 2021, marking her second collaboration with Charan after Vinaya Vidheya Rama. On September 8, 2021, Ranveer Singh, Chiranjeevi, and S. S. Rajamouli attended a traditional pooja ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad to officially launch the film.
Filming resumed in February 2023, with a few scenes shot at Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management in Visakhapatnam, followed by Simhachalam and Charminar. Several images from the set were leaked online during the filming at the university. Prabhu Deva choreographed a song with 100 dancers that was shot in March 2023.
