Plot

The central character in "Queen" is a young woman named Rani who comes from a traditional household in Delhi, India. Kangana Ranaut plays Rani in the film. Vijay, Rani's longtime boyfriend, had planned to wed her, but he cancels the wedding the day before the ceremony due to cultural issues. Rani, who is devastated and confused of what to do next, decides to travel alone on her pre-planned honeymoon to Paris and Amsterdam. She initially feels out of place and finds it difficult to get around the strange cities. But as time passes, Rani starts to venture out on her own, meet new people, and gain a fresh sense of independence. Rani encounters a number of people that give her fresh insights into life and love while travelling, such as a free-spirited Frenchman named Taka and a group of female musicians in Amsterdam. They help Rani find the strength to face her past and embrace who she truly is.

Rani gains self-assurance and learns to advocate for herself and her goals as the voyage goes on. She eventually makes her way back to India a transformed woman, prepared to face life on her own terms. Rani meets Vijay at the end of the movie and informs him that she has gone on and found happiness without him.
