The three working women in Delhi, Minal, Falak, and Andrea, who are wrongly charged with soliciting and attempting to murder a group of wealthy and powerful young men, are the centre of the "Pink" storyline. The women are the targets of character assassination and victim blaming after the story becomes a media sensation.Enter retired attorney Deepak Sehgal, who takes on their defence as a bipolar disorder sufferer. He initially doubts their innocence, but as he investigates the case more, he comes to understand the seriousness of the situation and the pressure the women are under. He navigates the convoluted court system with the aid of his young law student neighbour to establish their innocence and reveal the unscrupulous actions of the men who wrongly accused them. The movie shows the difficulties women have in a patriarchal culture where victim-blaming and slut-shaming are pervasive. It also draws attention to how the judicial system can be used to silence marginalised voices due to prejudices that exist within it. In the end, the movie makes a strong point about the value of consent and the necessity of society transformation to secure justice and equality for all.
The movie was released on the 16th of September 2016. It was made with a budget of 30 crores and grossed a box office collection of 157.32 crores. The movie was a big hit among the audience. It can be enjoyed on Hotstar. The movie has a runtime of 136 minutes and got a rating of 8.1/10 on IMDB.
Pink is a potent critique of the dominant feudal attitude in India, where men and women are held to separate standards. The Times of India.
The social thriller "Pink" is "a stunningly crafted social thriller, an angry statement on the systemic misogyny that permeates our society, and an indictment of the entitled male gaze that thinks nothing of preying upon the weak." Indian Times

Minal Arora, played by Taapsee Pannu, is a modern lady who works as the lead guitarist in a band. She is self-assured and independent. She is the main defendant in the case and is subject to abuse from the police and the media. Minal is a tenacious individual who, in spite of enormous pressure, will not compromise on the truth.
Amitabh Bachchan's character, Deepak Sehgal, is a retired lawyer who decides to take up the case to defend Minal and her companions. He has seen it all and is a savvy and knowledgeable character who understands how to operate within the legal system. Deepak is a feminist who supports the cause of women's rights.
Falak Ali, portrayed by Kirti Kulhari, is one of the co-accused in the case and Minal's flatmate. She is a working woman who will soon get married after becoming engaged. Falak initially hesitates to take the case to court and prefers to reach a resolution outside of court, but finally she supports Minal and stands up for her rights.
Another acquaintance of Minal who is charged in the case is Andrea Tariang (played by Andrea Tariang). She comes from Northeastern India, where she encounters bigotry and persecution from the media and the police. Andrea is a gentle and generous person who aids her friends in their quest for justice.
The primary defendant in the case is Rajveer Singh (Angad Bedi), who is also the son of a prominent politician. As a spoiled brat who believes he can get away with anything, he is presented. Rajveer is a cunning villain who threatens and intimidates Minal and her pals with his power.
