Plot

Prem helps his clients with their love problems as a Love Guru. He meets Bhaskar Diwakar Chaudhary, who seeks Prem's advice on his romantic life. Bhaskar adores his boss, Priya Jaisingh, but cannot express his feelings for her because she is the daughter of a powerful businessman named Raj Jaisingh. Prem first declines to assist Bhaskar and travels to Phuket, Thailand. Bhaskar follows him there and convinces him to assist.

Later, Prem encounters Naina, a photojournalist who was fleeing from some thugs being commanded by Chhota Don, who plays the role of Shahrukh Khan in Don. Prem saves her and develops feelings for her. He begins guiding Bhaskar in the meantime on how to win over Priya.

Priya, who eventually falls in love with Bhaskar but keeps it a secret from him, is charmed by him thanks to his own simplicity and odd behaviour. Prem, in the meantime, finds that Naina has a kid named Rohan from her previous marriage, and in an effort to win over Naina, he takes care of Rohan.

Bhaskar informs Prem that Priya is forced to marry someone. Rohan joins them both during Priya's wedding. Bhaskar tells Raj that Priya loves him and convinces him to call off the wedding. Naina attends the wedding and finds Prem. Rohan praises his good qualities and asks that she marry him and make Prem his father. Priya and Bhaskar prepare to get married.

Prem is approached by Neil Bakshi, a spoiled brat, who asks Prem to convince a female to have a one-night stand. Prem storms out at Neil, telling him that he doesn't help anyone who has such wicked motives. Despite all odds, Neil gets his one-night encounter with the woman and then leaves, telling her that the love guru advised him to do so.

Unfortunately, it turns out that the girl is Nikki, a friend of Naina's. After learning that Love Guru is actually Prem, Naina rushes out to expose him. Naina despises Prem for what she believes he did to her friend, and she writes a front-page piece in which she claims that Prem can match anyone with any lady they like, using the romance between Priya and Bhaskar as an example. As a result, Bhaskar loses his job.

Prem goes to Priya to tell her the truth because he fears Bhaskar will commit suicide without her. Priya is prepared to take Bhaskar back after realising that all the qualities she admired in him were what Prem wanted Bhaskar to keep from her. By telling Naina the truth about not helping Neil, Prem redeems himself, and the two of them reunite.

His character undergoes a transformation when he falls for Naina and faces challenges in his own love life, mirroring the complex situations he helps others overcome.

Bhaskar is a love-struck, average Joe who seeks help from Love Guru to win the heart of his longtime crush, Priya. Played by Govinda, Bhaskar offers comic relief throughout the film with his innocence, humorous antics, and a never-give-up attitude in pursuing his love. Priya Jaisingh, played by Katrina Kaif, is Bhaskar's dream girl. She is a wealthy businesswoman who values honesty and simplicity over materialistic things. Behind the Scenes

The making of Partner involved a creative and collaborative effort by the cast and crew to bring this Bollywood romantic comedy to life.

The initial stages involved the development of the script, where the filmmakers adapted the story from the 2005 American film Hitch. The script was modified to suit the Indian context and to incorporate the signature Bollywood style.

The casting process aimed to bring together a talented ensemble cast that could do justice to the characters and add their unique flair to the film. Govinda and Salman Khan, known for their comic timing, were chosen for the lead roles. Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif were cast in pivotal female roles, bringing their charm and acting skills to the table.

The behind-the-scenes efforts of the entire team culminated in the release of Partner on the big screen, where audiences could finally enjoy the fruits of their labour. The film's success was a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by everyone involved in its making.

Controversy

Sony Pictures, the studio that owns the movie Hitch, was considering suing both of the Indian producers for copyright violations for $30 million. After Begunah, it would have been the second occasion that a foreign film production firm sued an Indian entertainment company for plagiarism.

Finally, Partner was made available, with Sony obtaining the global exclusive satellite transmission rights. On Sony Max in late October 2007, the movie got its television premiere.

Box Office Collection

Partner proved to be a massive success at the box office, as audiences flocked to theatres to enjoy this Bollywood romantic comedy. The film's commercial performance was so impressive that Box Office India declared it a Blockbuster. It achieved significant milestones, including being the second-biggest domestic opener at the time of its release.

In India, Partner garnered tremendous popularity, resulting in impressive box-office collections. The film grossed a staggering amount of ₹1.03 billion, solidifying its position as one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2007. The film's engaging storyline, star-studded cast, and blend of comedy and romance struck a chord with the Indian audience, contributing to its massive success.

Not only did Partner perform exceptionally well domestically, but it also made a mark in the overseas market. The film managed to earn $4.19 million internationally, showcasing its appeal beyond the Indian diaspora. The popularity of the lead actors, Salman Khan and Govinda, helped attract audiences worldwide, further boosting the film's international box office collections.
