Murder Mubarak - 2024

 Plot

The Royal Delhi Club was established for the rich and famous. When the club's fitness coach Leo (played by Ashim Gulati) is murdered on the premises, ACP Bhavani Singh (played by Pankaj Tripathi) and sub-inspector Padam (played by Priyank Tiwary) are tasked with solving the case.

During their investigation, they discover many ornaments in Leo's room that belong to various members of the club. ACP Singh and Padam discover that Leo had been blackmailing club members in exchange for donations to Shepherd's Orphanage, which provided the killer with an ideal motive. Members of the club are listed in the orphanage's donation records. Each member is questioned one by one in order to determine who committed the murder and a lot of secrets come out in the investigation process.

Release

The film was released on March 15, 2024, on the OTT platform Nteflix.The movie is currently first on the list of the top 10 movies to watch in India. The movie is available in Hindi, Tamil, telugu and English.

Reviews

Critics Review-

According to the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 77% of 13 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 5.6/10.

Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV gave the film a 3/5 rating, saying, "The film does not rely on action for effect." And the script ensures that the conversation is not boring. The editing keeps up with the pace of the investigation, and the directorial flourishes ensure that the film is always riveting."

A Bollywood Hungama critic gave the film a 2.5-star rating, writing, "Despite a slow narrative, Murder Mubarak rests on the performances and unpredictable climax."

Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars, saying, "This is the closest any film has come to re-creating Anuja Chauhan's universe; very few can do the insider-outsider divide with such acuteness, both sharp and warm."

Sukanya Verma of Rediff gave Murder Mubarak 2/5 stars and felt that "despite director Homi Adajania's ease around quirky ensembles and macabre touches, Murder Mubarak fails to draw the viewer into its shallow world of the vain and wealthy"

Audience Review-

Murder Mubarak has received mixed reactions from audiences. Some of the actors in the film gave excellent performances, despite the dry plot. Actors Pankaj Tripathi, Tisca Chopra, and Vijay Verma give particularly noteworthy performances in the film. Sara Ali Khan also makes an impression on the film with her engrossing performance. Sanjay Kapoor and Karishma Kapoor both perform brilliantly given that they have less screen time. All in all,the performances keep you interested throughout the entire film, even though the plot is very mediocre overall.

• Karisma Kapoor- Indian actress Karisma Kapoor primarily appears in Hindi-language films. After making her acting debut in 1991's Prem Qaidi, Kapoor went on to star as the leading lady in a number of commercial successes. 

• Tisca Chopra- Tisca Zareen Chopra is an Indian actress, writer, and producer who has starred in more than 45 full-length movies, mostly in Hindi. Her most well-known motion picture, Taare Zameen Par, served as India's official entry for the Academy Awards.

• Pankaj Tripathi - Pankaj Tripathi is an Indian actor who primarily performs in Hindi films but has also made appearances in a few English, Telugu, and Tamil films. He has won a number of accolades. As one of the notable actors in Hindi film, Tripathi has made a name for himself.

• Sanjay Kapoor - Sanjay Kapoor is an Indian actor and film producer. He works in Hindi cinema, Indian television and web series.
