Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who plays Megha, was not visible in the movie's teaser before it hit theatres. Due to her lack of popularity at the time, many viewers mistakenly identified her as Kajol or Madhuri Dixit, two actors who had collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan under the Yash Raj banner.
Amitabh Bachchan contacted Yash Chopra for work when he was out of work and was given a part in the film after no producers approached him.
Ishika and Sanjana were presented to Karisma Kapoor and Kajol, but both of them turned them down.
Without having read the script first, Shah Rukh Khan consented to star in the movie.
The character of Sridevi, who was meant to play Amitabh Bachchan's love interest, was dropped from the movie.
Shah Rukh Khan plays a character in the movie by the name of Raj Aryan. Aryan is the name of Shahrukh Khan's child.
Yash Chopra's favourite scene was when Shah Rukh broke down in tears and claimed that he was to blame for the removal of three boys from the Gurukul.
The school's Gurukul stage was built in London, United Kingdom.
Amitabh Bachchan donned attire designed by Karan Johar, a filmmaker.
Aditya Chopra wrote a role that was paired with Amitabh Bachchan. Sri Devi turned down the role, so he moved to Madhuri Dixit.
Mohabbatein had a successful global box office run, earning over 316 crores. Amitabh Bachchan's depiction of the strict headmaster Narayan Shankar was praised, as was Shah Rukh Khan's portrayal of Raj Aryan. Jatin-music Lalit's for the movie, which featured well-known tracks like Humko Humise Chura Lo and Aankhein Khuli, was also a huge hit. The film's theme of love and following one's heart struck a chord with viewers, especially in India, where it was a box office success.
