The performances in the movie are also noteworthy, with Abhimanyu Dassani and Radhika Madan delivering impressive performances in their respective roles. Mahesh Manjrekar also shines as Surya's grandfather, bringing a sense of gravitas to the film.

The movie begins with a young Surya growing up with his grandfather (played by Mahesh Manjrekar), who teaches him martial arts and encourages him to fight against injustice. Surya's life takes a turn when he meets a young girl named Supri, who becomes his friend and motivates him to use his unique abilities to help others.
As Surya grows up, he becomes determined to fight against the evil in society and sets out on a mission to save his neighborhood from the clutches of a dangerous gangster. The rest of the movie follows Surya's journey as he battles various villains, falls in love with Supri, and tries to fulfill his grandfather's dream of becoming a true fighter.
On March 21, 2019, RSVP Movies distributed the movie in theatres in India, New Zealand, and Australia. Later it was also released in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.
In India, the movie was only shown on 375 screens as a result of a disagreement with multiple theatre operators. In response to a complaint made by producer Ronnie Screwvala alleging that four cinema chains were charging extra fees to Hindi films, INOX Leisure Ltd refused to show Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota on any of their screens. These Virtual Print Fees started in 2010 with the intention of assisting theatres in the switch from film to digital, but they have lasted longer than anticipated.
The film has a quirky and offbeat style of storytelling, which makes it stand out from the typical Bollywood fare. The action sequences are brilliantly choreographed, and the film has a refreshing mix of humor, drama, and emotions. Abhimanyu Dassani delivers a fantastic performance in his debut film and brings out the innocence and vulnerability of his character with ease. Radhika Madan is equally impressive as the feisty Supri, who is not afraid to take charge of her own life.
Gulshan Devaiah steals the show as the eccentric and unpredictable villain, Jimmy. He delivers a menacing performance and brings a sense of unpredictability to his character, which keeps the audience engaged throughout. Mahesh Manjrekar is also excellent as Surya's grandfather and provides a lot of heart to the film.
The movie has a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 18 reviews with an average rating of 6.9/10. The movie, according to Bloody Disgusting's Rafael Motamayor, is "India's highly entertaining answer to Deadpool." In this loud action comedy, Bala's passions and obsessions are painted huge across the screen with a real fondness that is hard to deny, J Hurtado of Screen Anarchy stated. Later, he listed it among his top 14 favourite Indian movies of the year.
On IMDb, the movie has a rating of 7.3 out of 10.

To achieve the perfect balance between action and comedy, the director worked closely with the choreographers and the cinematographers to create visually striking fight scenes that were also humorous. The lead actor Abhimanyu Dassani, who underwent intense martial arts training for the film, performed most of the stunts himself, which added to the authenticity of the fight scenes.
Another significant challenge for the production team was to shoot the film on a limited budget and time frame. To overcome this, the director and the cinematographer used creative techniques like handheld cameras, unconventional angles, and practical effects to capture the action sequences. The team also relied on practical locations and minimalistic sets to give the film a realistic feel.

Despite receiving critical acclaim, the movie did not perform well at the box office. On its opening day, the film collected approximately ₹30 lakhs at the domestic box office. The film's total box office collection in India was around ₹2.03 Crore, which was considered a disappointment, given the critical acclaim the film had received prior to its release.
While the movie did not perform well at the domestic box office, its international recognition and critical acclaim suggest that it was still a successful and influential film in the Bollywood industry.

At a dental office, Vasan Bala came across a child who had congenital insensitivity to pain. This gave him the inspiration for the movie.
Abhimanyu Dassani, the son of Bhagyashree Patwardhan and Himalay Dasani, made his cinematic debut with this movie.
Surya's stepmother (Bridget von Hammersmark) shares the same name as Diane Kruger's Inglorious Bastards character.
Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota was scheduled to be Radhika Madan's first film, but because of the film's delayed release, Pataakha (2018) ended up being Radhika Madan's debut.
The medical disorder known as congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP) exists. One or more uncommon diseases, sometimes known as congenital analgesia, cause a person to be incapable of feeling physical pain.
Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota is a refreshing addition to Bollywood's filmography. Its unique storyline, genre-blending approach, and impressive performances make it a must-watch for anyone looking for an entertaining and unique movie experience.
