Introduction

Love Today is a 2022 romantic comedy-drama in the Tamil language written and directed by Pradeep Ranganathan as his follow-up to Comali. Kalapathi S. Aghoram also produced it under the umbrella of AGS Entertainment.  The lead parts in the movie are played by Pradeep Ranganathan  (in his acting debut), Ivana, Raveena Ravi, Yogi Babu, Sathyaraj, and Raadhika Sarathkumar. Yuvan Shankar Raja created the film's score and music, while Dinesh Purushothaman filmed it and Pradeep E. Ragav edited it.

Story

Uthaman Pradeep, a support engineer with Cognizant in Chennai, is 24 years old. He resides with his eldest sister Divya and his mother, Saraswathi, a widow. He is romantically involved with Nikitha, a software engineer, and the lawyer's daughter Venu Sastri. They are a perfect match, eager to move forward with their romance by getting married, but Pradeep is a little hesitant because of Nikitha's stern father. However, when Venu learns about his daughter's friendship with Pradeep, he invites him to his home to discuss the impending nuptials.

However, during their meeting, Venu plays around with Pradeep and then offers to make him an odd deal by exchanging his phone for Nikitha's for a day, along with the screen lock from each device. If they still feel in love after the trial period, Venu will not oppose their union; otherwise, they must part ways. Pradeep and Nikitha trade their phones after agreeing to this choice reluctantly, but not before Pradeep deletes his WhatsApp conversations.

The further story takes place when In the meantime, a pornographic film that appears to feature Nikitha gains popularity and, despite her protests that the video was doctored, leads to Venu attacking and eventually disowning her. Nikitha leaves her home in tears. She is found by Pradeep sitting by herself on a beach, where he comforts her. He says that he and his pals were able to find Kaushik, a colleague of Nikitha's who loves notoriety, who deep-faked Nikitha and placed her into a random porn movie to make it a viral video, and that the police eventually apprehended Kaushik.

Reuniting, Pradeep and Nikitha reignite their romance. After apologising to Nikitha for misinterpreting her, Venu explains to them both the true purpose of the phone swap: he wanted to see how strong their connection would be in the face of obstacles. He reports that they were successful, so they sanctioned their marriage. Later, when Venu runs into Saraswathi, he suggests they trade phones so they may take another test. The film's message is that trust is necessary to achieve peace in today's society.

Love Today is a Tamil romantic drama that was released on November 4, 2022; Love Today was theatrically launched to rave reviews from both audiences and critics. The film was distributed by Red Giant Movies and directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, who also played the lead role in the movie.

Additionally, she is shown as a courageous and sympathetic person who is greatly impacted by the sufferings of others around her and helps everyone. Overall she is portrayed amazingly in movie and her character has excellent potential in the movie.

Three days after its debut, the movie had made more than 19 crores at the box office.  The movie made $50 crores worldwide on its eleventh day of release. In its first week of release, the movie made $70 crore at global box offices. On November 25, 2022, Pinkvilla claimed that the movie had made over 50 crore rupees in Tamil Nadu. Despite having a budget of only $5 million, the movie made nearly $100 million, making it one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of 2022.
