There was no reshoot, according to Brett Ratner. He simply cut the film while keeping the plot. The only change he made was to remove a dance segment that didn't advance the plot. For international audiences, he also kept some footage that had been previously cut from the Hindi version because it was "more racy, more sexuality," and he added a new music track and significant sound effects.
The female lead role was offered to Sonam Kapoor but the actress declined it.
