The main character of the movie : Karthik Narayan, a socially awkward and introverted man who lacks self-confidence. Deepika Padukone plays Shonali Mukherjee, a self-assured and extroverted coworker of Karthik's. She is portrayed as Karthik's love interest and the spark that ignites his change. Originally intended for Hrithik Roshan, Karthik Narayan is a fictional persona. But due to schedule issues, Farhan Akhtar stepped into the role and gave a stunning performance.
In the suspenseful finale of "Karthik Calling Karthik," Karthik reveals the identity of the caller's true identity. In response to childhood trauma and repressed emotions, he learns that the caller is a manifestation of his buried alter ego.
