Jab We Met features two iconic characters, Geet and Aditya, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor, respectively. The film is a romantic comedy-drama that explores the relationship between two completely different individuals.
Geet is a bubbly, talkative, and extroverted young woman who hails from Bhatinda, Punjab. She is full of life and doesn't shy away from expressing her opinions and feelings. Geet's character is charming and carefree, and her infectious energy has the power to light up any room. She is spontaneous and impulsive, making her a little reckless at times. She believes in living in the moment and not dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Geet's character evolves throughout the movie as she faces challenges and learns from her experiences.
Aditya, on the other hand, is an introverted and reserved man who is going through a tough time in his life. He is an industrialist who has recently gone through a painful breakup and is dealing with the loss of his business. Aditya's character is initially portrayed as gloomy and lost, but his journey with Geet brings out a more cheerful and positive side. Aditya is intelligent and insightful, but his emotions often hold him back. His interactions with Geet help him break out of his shell and embrace life with open arms.
The chemistry between Geet and Aditya is what makes the movie a classic. The contrasting personalities of the two characters create a beautiful dynamic and showcase the beauty of opposites attracting. The film highlights how two people can bring out the best in each other, and the importance of living life to the fullest.

The movie was deemed a success after continuing its strong run in week two with earnings of nearly 90 million (US$1.1 million) and a two-week total of 210 million (US$2.6 million). Jab We Met added another 20 million (US$250,000) to its earnings during its third week, but it experienced a setback since Om Shanti Om and Saawariya, opened in theatres at the same time, reducing the number of showings for Jab We Met. The following week saw an increase in the number of prints for the movie nationwide due to high demand and the bad performance of the latter, which led to a 50% increase in the movie's collections. The movie acquired a hit title from BoxOffice India on December 14, 2007, after reaching fifty successful days at the box office.
