Plot

 The protagonist of "I Am Kalam" is Chhotu, a street kid from Rajasthan who works at a dhaba (roadside eatery). Inspired by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the previous president of India, Chhotu adopts the name Kalam and embarks on a quest to better himself.Prince Ranvijay, a wealthy young man visiting the adjacent palace, becomes friends with Kalam. Kalam is given reading and writing assistance by Prince Ranvijay, who also inspires him to pursue his dream of attending college. However, Kalam faces a number of challenges, including his lack of education and poverty.Kalam learns to read and write with the aid of a friend and a kind instructor, and he also discovers his passion for science. Additionally, he gains wisdom about friendship, honesty, and endurance.

Character Analysis

• Harsh Mayar portrays Chhotu/Kalam, a young man from Rajasthan who works at a dhaba despite his poverty. Inspired by former president A.P.J. • In order to portray the genuine look and feel of the region, director Nila Madhab Panda chose to shoot the movie on site in Rajasthan. However, this presented a number of practical difficulties, including locating appropriate places for filming and coping with adverse weather.

• The production team faced significant linguistic challenges while filming because a large portion of the ensemble did not speak Hindi, the movie's primary language. Panda worked closely with the cast and production to make sure that everyone was on the same page and hired local translators to get around this.

• The child actor Harsh Mayar, who played the lead role of Chhotu/Kalam, was not a trained actor but was chosen for his natural talent and charisma. Panda worked closely with Mayar to bring out his best performance and encouraged him to improvise on set to capture his spontaneous reactions.
