The story begins with Dadasaheb Phalke (Nandu Madhav), a multifaceted artist and a passionate photographer, witnessing a silent motion picture in Mumbai. Fascinated by this new medium of storytelling, he decides to make a feature film in India. However, he faces numerous challenges due to the lack of resources, knowledge, and expertise in filmmaking. Undeterred, Phalke travels to London to learn the art of filmmaking.

Upon his return to India, Phalke faces several obstacles, including financial constraints and scepticism from his family and society. Despite these challenges, he remains dedicated to his dream and starts setting up his production company, enlisting the help of his supportive wife, Saraswati (Vibhavari Deshpande), and their children.

From casting actors to building sets and handling the technical aspects of filmmaking, Phalke's journey is filled with perseverance, determination, and innovation.
