 Reviews

When Double Dhamaal was released, reviews from critics ranged from neutral to negative. It has a 20% rating from review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie received a score of 4/5 stars from renowned critic Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama, who called it really hilarious and said that sometimes, a good chuckle is all you need to make your day. Try not to miss this one; it promises lots of laughs. According to Nikhat Kazmi of the Times of India, who gave the movie three out of five stars, Double Dhamaal works like an average Bollywood comedy for those who don't mind losing it for a little. This one's definitely not for the fastidious, discriminating viewer, though. It's a huge circus in terms of performance, with the men taking up the most of the spotlight. The two girls, Mallika and Kangana, are nothing more than confetti. The Hindustan Times' Mayank Shekhar gave the movie a score of 1 out of 5.'Indra Kumar's recipe for double Dhamaal is quite simple - sexual innuendo, potshots at popular films, bad mimicry, foreign locations, a generous dose of overacting, an item song, and a gora villain', stated Shakti Salgaokar of DNA in his review.

 Character Analysis

 Arshad Warsi as Aditya

Aditya Shrivastav is a charismatic and witty individual with a street-smart demeanor. He possesses a quick wit that allows him to think on his feet, making him an invaluable asset to the group of friends he is associated with. Despite his intelligence, Aditya has a tendency to find himself in troublesome situations due to his impulsive nature and knack for taking risks. Aditya's ability to come up with creative and unconventional solutions is a testament to his resourcefulness. His rapid thinking helps the group navigate through various obstacles and challenges they encounter. Whether it's devising a plan on the spot or finding a way out of a sticky situation, Aditya's quick wit often saves the day. While Aditya's intelligence is his greatest asset, it can also be a double-edged sword.

Javed Jaffrey as Maanav

Manav Shrivastav is a mild-mannered and naive individual who often finds himself caught up in funny and unconventional circumstances. Unlike his brother Aditya, Manav is more reserved and less street-smart, making him an easy target for manipulation by his friends. Manav's naive nature and gullibility make him easily influenced by his buddies, who often lead him into hilarious misadventures. While he may lack the wit and quick thinking of his friends, Manav compensates with his kind-heartedness and willingness to go along with their plans, even if they seem outrageous or far-fetched.

Riteish Deshmukh as Roy

Roy is a charismatic and cunning character who stands out for his conning abilities. He is known for his sharp intellect, clever schemes, and the ability to adapt to any situation. Roy's skills as a con man make him an invaluable asset to the group of friends he is associated with. Endearing and charming, Roy captivates both his friends and the audience with his quick thinking and resourcefulness. He possesses a natural ability to manipulate others and use their weaknesses to his advantage. Whether it's using his charm to win someone's trust or devising elaborate plans, Roy's wit and cleverness give the narrative a unique edge. Roy's presence in the group brings a sense of unpredictability to their adventures.

Ashish Chaudhary as Boman

Boman Contractor is a quirky and unconventional individual who adds a distinct flavor to the group dynamics. He is notorious for his outlandish ideas and the offbeat business schemes he concocts. Boman's imaginative thinking and willingness to take risks often result in humorous and unpredictable situations. With his odd personality, Boman becomes a constant source of laughter and amusement. He has a knack for delivering clever one-liners that leave the audience in splits. His wit and unique sense of humor add an extra layer of comedy to the film. Despite his seemingly absurd ideas, Boman's plans often display a certain level of creativity and outside-the-box thinking.

Sanjay Dutt as Deshbandhu

Deshbandhu is a rugged and unflappable individual with a strong presence. As a former cop, he brings a sense of authority and experience to the group. While Deshbandhu has chosen to go down a different path, his expertise and skills are invaluable in their hilarious heists. With his direct demeanor and no-nonsense attitude, Deshbandhu is a force to be reckoned with. He exudes strength and confidence, which adds a dash of excitement and action to the movie. Deshbandhu's physical prowess and his ability to handle tough situations make him a valuable asset in their comedic adventures.

Mallika Sherawat as Kamini

Kamini is introduced as an alluring and seductive woman who captivates the attention of the group. She uses her charm and beauty to her advantage, effortlessly luring the gang into her schemes. Kamini's seductive nature adds an element of allure and temptation to the narrative. Crafty and manipulative, Kamini is driven by her own agenda throughout the film. She cunningly uses the gang's resources and abilities to further her own interests, often pushing them into comedic situations they didn't expect. Her ability to manipulate others and her unpredictable behavior keep the audience guessing about her true intentions. Kamini's erratic behavior adds a layer of unpredictability to the story. She is known for her impulsive actions and the chaos she creates.
