The plot of Dabangg 2 revolves around the charismatic cop, Chulbul Pandey, who has now settled into his role as a police officer in the town of Kanpur. Life seems to be going smoothly for Chulbul as he continues to fight against injustice and maintain law and order in his own unique style.
However, a new challenge emerges when a powerful and corrupt politician, Baccha Bhaiyya (Prakash Raj), enters the scene. Baccha Bhaiyya seeks revenge against Chulbul for an encounter that occurred in the past. He becomes a formidable enemy, creating havoc in Chulbul's personal and professional life.
Amidst the turmoil, Chulbul must also deal with his strained relationship with his stepbrother, Makkhi, who is involved in his own misadventures. Additionally, Chulbul's relationship with his wife Rajjo faces challenges as well.
As Chulbul takes on Baccha Bhaiyya and his gang, he encounters a series of thrilling and action-packed confrontations. Along the way, Chulbul relies on his wit, charm, and trademark style to outsmart his enemies and protect his loved ones.

Dabangg 2 was released on 3500 screens in India and 450 screens overseas on 21 December 2012. The film was made on a budget of ₹650 million (US$8.1 million) including prints and advertising. This figure does not include Salman Khan's fee which can go as high as the budget of the film itself. Dabangg 2 had the highest screen count for any film in India and worldwide, surpassing that of Ek Tha Tiger.

Director's Vision: Arbaaz Khan, who also served as the director of the film, aimed to continue the success and essence of the first instalment. He wanted to maintain the unique charm and larger-than-life persona of Chulbul Pandey while introducing fresh elements to the story.
Filming Locations: The movie was primarily shot in various locations in Mumbai, including the iconic Film City. The team recreated the town of Kanpur to bring authenticity to the setting and capture the essence of North Indian culture.
Choreography: The film featured vibrant and energetic dance numbers choreographed by Mudassar Khan and Ganesh Acharya. The choreographers brought their expertise to create captivating dance sequences that added to the film's entertainment quotient.
Dabangg 2 was the second-highest grosser of the year behind Ek Tha Tiger. It netted ₹211 million (US$2.6 million) on its opening day, the biggest non-holiday opener beating the previous record held by Rowdy Rathore.It netted around ₹1.78 billion (US$22 million) nett after the completion of its theatrical run. The final distributor share of the film in India was ₹940 million (US$12 million).
