Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a sequel to the 2005 film Bunty Aur Babli. The story is set years after the events of the original movie, and it follows the adventures of two new con artists who adopt the aliases of Bunty and Babli. Bunty (played by Siddhant Chaturvedi) and Babli (played by Sharvari Wagh) are two small-town con artists who dream of making it big in scams. They are inspired by the legend of the original Bunty and Babli, and they adopt the same names to start their journey.
The duo travels across India, pulling off a series of daring cons that earn them a reputation as the country's most elusive and successful con artists. However, their luck runs out when they cross paths with a tough cop (played by Rani Mukherjee) determined to bring them to justice.
As Bunty and Babli try to stay one step ahead of the law, they realise they have fallen in love. But their love is threatened by their dangerous lifestyle and the constant threat of being caught. The story turns out unexpectedly when Bunty and Babli stumble upon a big score that could change their lives forever. But to pull off this last con, they must put everything on the line and risk losing everything they have worked for.
Ultimately, Bunty and Babli must decide what is most important to them: their love for each other or their desire for money and success. As they face their greatest challenge, they must rely on their wits and each other to make it out alive.
The film was revealed on December 17, 2019, and filming began the following day. The film's theatrical release date has been pushed back to June 26, 2020, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.[Citation required] The picture was completed in September of 2020. The release was pushed back owing to the second wave of the Coronavirus. It premiered in theatres on November 19, 2021.
Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a cinematic heist that we didn't sign up for, but the scene-stealing cast reels you in and effectively scams you out of your hard-earned money for a one-time movie ticket and popcorn, wrote Karishma Shetty of Pinkvilla.
The film was characterised as a snooze-fest by Monika Rawal Kukreja of the Hindustan Times, who wrote, Rani Mukerji is the saving grace in this snooze-fest, don't watch even if paid for it. Bunty Aur Babli 2 had all the right components to serve a perfect dish, but too much mixing left it with no great after taste,' she wrote.
Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a poor show and no way near to the first part, wrote Bollywood Hungama of the film. They praised Chaturvedi and Wagh's performances but criticised Mukerji and Khan's, saying, Rani Mukerji is too loud and over the top and is not in sync with her character in the first half; Saif Ali Khan is not in great form, which is pretty shocking considering he's known to ace in all kinds of genres. Siddhant Chaturvedi makes an impression and shows his hero material, while Sharvari Wagh makes a confident debut and looks hot.
Bunty Aur Babli 2 is sincere in its effort to keep the brand alive and continue the story naturally; but it chooses to disregard all the signs, all the red flags, and decides to cover them up under a flashy exterior, wrote Devansh Sharma of Firstpost. It only skims the surface of the pros and cons of deception in the era of the internet and social media. It also makes a passing reference to the present government's failed efforts to revitalise the Ganga, but never delves into it.

The film was unveiled by Yash Raj Films in December 2019 as a spiritual sequel to the 2005 film. After a moment of hesitation, they choose each other and flee to a new life together. However, they are not entirely free from their past. The tough cop who was after them eventually catches up, but instead of arresting them, she offers them a deal. She proposes that they use their con artist skills to help the police catch other criminals.
Bunty and Babli agree to the deal, and they become legitimate undercover agents for the police. They continue to work together and live happily ever after, using their unique skills to fight crime and make a positive difference in the world.
