Bro is an Indian Telugu-language fantasy comedy film directed by Samuthirakani. Samuthirakani also wrote the script for the film. In association with Zee Studios, it is produced by T. G. Vishwa Prasad's People Media Factory under the banner of People Media Factory. It stars Pawan Kalyan, Sai Dharam Tej, Priya Prakash Varrier, Ketika Sharma, Brahmanandam and Subbaraju. Trivikram is responsible for the writing of both the dialogue and the screenplay.

Thaman S is responsible for the composition of the score, while Sujith Vasudev and Naveen Nooli are responsible for the cinematography and editing, respectively. It is a remake of the Tamil movie Vinodhaya Sitham, which was released in 2021 and also starred Samuthirakani and was directed by him as well. Bro was released on 28th of July in 2023.

The story will center around a character who leads a selfish and arrogant life, unconcerned with the consequences of his actions and constantly seeking instant gratification. However, when this individual passes away, he will be granted an opportunity to right the wrongs of their past through a second chance at life. Despite initial reservations about this newfound opportunity, he will come to appreciate the value of redemption and embark on a journey of self-improvement.

As he progresses through this journey, he will gradually begin to shed their former attitude and replace it with newfound humility. Through his interactions with others, he will become more mindful of the impact their actions have on those around them and take steps to make amends for their previous misdeeds. Through his efforts to repair the damage he has done, he will become a better person and a positive influence on those around them.

Bro was released on the 28th of July in 2023. The teaser of the movie was released on 29th July 2023. Zee Telugu has succeeded in acquiring the rights to broadcast the film over satellite. In addition, Netflix has acquired the rights to provide digital streaming services.

Reviews

Bro had the potential to be a memorable Telugu fantasy comedy with its core plot centered around the universal truth of human insignificance in the grand scheme of things. The central character, Markandeyulu, is portrayed as someone who believes he knows it all and has no time for others. The film attempts to impart lessons in humility, but sadly, it falls short in execution.

Sai Dharam Tej and Pawan Kalyan's performances, though competent, don't offer anything extraordinary, leaving the audience wanting more from these talented actors. Additionally, Priya Prakash Varrier, Raja Chembolu, Tanikella Bharani, and Ketika Sharma are given limited screen time to make an impact, leaving their characters underdeveloped and unexplored.

While Bro manages to bring occasional moments of cheer, it largely fizzles into a mundane and monotonous soap opera. The film's well-intentioned story ultimately loses its impact due to the lackluster execution and failure to make the most of its fascinating premise.

• Pawan Kalyan as God of Time - Indian actor, politician, filmmaker, and philanthropist Pawan Kalyan. He focuses on Telugu films. He won Filmfare, SIIMA, CineMAA, and Santosham Film Awards. In 2013, 2017, and 2018, Forbes India's Celebrity 100 included him. He debuted in Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi in 1996.

• Sai Dharam Tej as Markandeyulu Mark - Panja Sai Dharam Tej (born 15 October 1986) is a Telugu actor. He debuted in Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham (2014), which won SIIMA and CineMAA Awards for Best Male Debut. He is related to the Allu–Konidela family.

• Priya Prakash Varrier - Indian actress Priya Prakash Varrier (born 28 October) works mostly in Malayalam and Telugu films. Her wink in Oru Adaar Love went viral, making her the most Googled Indian figure in 2018.

• Ketika Sharma - Indian actress Ketika Sharma (born 24 December 1995) works in Telugu films. Romantic (2021) and Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga (2022) were her first films.

• Brahmanandam - Kanneganti Brahmanandam is a Telugu film actor, comedian, impersonator, and voice actor. He has almost 1000 film credits, a Guinness World Record for a live actor. Acharya Nagarjuna University granted him an honorary doctorate. He received India's fourth-highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, for his art in 2009. Pakapakalu, DD Telugu's 1985 television debut, was well-received.

• Subbaraju - Indian actor Penmetsa Subbaraju works mostly in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi films. Amma Nanna O' Tamil Ammayi, Arya, Pokiri, Leader. Khadgam was his debut. He also worked in Businessman, Mirchi, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Temper, Duvvada Jagannadham, Geetha Govindam, and Majili.
